Contributor Stalking (The “feeling autumnal” edition)

Brian got zombified while visiting Papabubble for his new Halloween video, Rachel tried out Cascabel Taqueria on the Upper East Side, Blondie checked out the new fall pie from four and twenty while Brownie tracked down Ben & Jerry’s Schweddy Balls at a bodega in Park Slope, Donny whipped up a lamb stew at home, Chris had dinner at The Walrus and the Carpenter in Seattle and I photographed the Marty Markowitz at the grand opening of Fleisher’s in Brooklyn.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Zach is making a list of new Los Angeles lunch options, Andrea discovered a Mexican restaurant hidden in a generic deli and Jamie is hosting a Midtown Lunch Philadelphia lunchtime meetup later this week.

Chili Chocolate Pumpkin Doughnut Pie

Brownie made this Chili Chocolate Pumpkin Doughnut Pie to a pie party at Rodeo bar, Blondie spent the weekend eating her way through the NYC Food Film Festival, Chris rubbed elbows with Eric Ripert at the City Harvest Bid Against Hunger Gala, Donny took his little sister to lunch at Prime Meats, Rachel cooked up some tasty looking pasta at home, Brian finished the TONY 100 Best challenge with Paulie Gee’s in Greenpoint and I photographed Mayor Bloomberg at New York Tech Meetup last week.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Zach tried some scary cheap sushi in Koreatown in LA, Jamie is giving away Ted Allen’s cookbook in Philly and Andrea gives us an at lunch now look at opening day at OBAO down in the financial district.

Newcomer Rachel made her own Korean tacos at home with advice from Korilla BBQ and Kimchi Taco, Brian appeared in Time Out New York’s 100 Best issue, Donny had the spicy pork over rice at JJ Noodle House in LA, Blondie is enjoying the last few weeks of outdoor eating at Smorgasburg, Brownie’s participating in CakeSpy’s Tour de Sweets book tour and I wrote about my visit to a taping of the new daytime food show, The Chew, on Mouth of the Border.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Andrea didn’t have any luck ordering from the underground menu at Potbelly downtown, Jamie discovered tasty fish tacos at a dive called Jose’s in Philly and Zach had the delicious sounding Ramen fried rice at Yamadaya in LA.

Brian had Beef Seven Ways meal at Ma Peche, Blondie says Levain Bakery has one of the best cookies in New York, Brownie is searching for fresh Colombian arepas con huevos, Chris panned Telepan, Donny’s been writing about New York’s Hidden Gems for the Wall Street Journal and I’ve been posting film photos from Peru.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Andrea asks the preposterous question, “Should you eat ribs” at Backyard Chicken downtown, Jamie shared the Duck for Two special at Sang Kee in Philadelphia and Zach carbo-loaded on all sorts of Persian rice at Javan restaurant in Los Angeles.

Donny really enjoyed Brooklyn Star’s fried chicken dinner, Brian checked out that Chef’s Mau Po Tofu at Szechuan Gourmet, Brownie put together her own photo recap of last weekend’s Vendy Awards, while Blondie gave us a heads up that the NYC Food Film Festival is on its way, Chris H. gushed over the food and the chef at Forcello in Williamsburg and I finally started reporting on the food I had in Peru with a post on The Tree House in the town of Machu Picchu.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Andrea gave us a Downtown perspective to the Vendys with her Downtown Lunch recap, while Jamie discovered what doubles are with the help of the Mini Trini truck in Philly and Zach breaks the ML price limit for a an exceptional all you can eat Brazilian bargain at Libra in Culver City, Los Angeles.

Brian’s took his beer adventures to Brooklyn, Donny sent a big ‘thank you’ for his Beard House show, Blondie had a delicious looking peach doughnut at Northern Spy, Brownie found quality hummus in Maine, Chris posted a slideshow from Five Day Market in Korea, and I photographed Midnight Brunch in LES last weekend.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Zach scarfed down a delicious, but expensive falafel at Habayit in Los Angeles, Jamie found Cambodian dumplings in Kavei Express in Philly, and Andrea found a sandwich that’s worth the $10 price tag at Fresh Salt downtown.

Brownie discovered tasty tacos at Buce in Meriden, Connecticut, Blondie provided a guide to the New York Wine and Food Festival, Chris went sandwich shopping at Andy’s Sandwich and Smoothies in Honolulu, Brian begins a new adventure seeking the best beer in New York and I still want you to vote for me in the the about.me Times Square billboard contest.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Andrea found a General Tso’s express window at Koko downtown, Jamie tried out the new Latin Farmer food truck in Philadelphia and Zach stuffed himself with pork belly from Jang Tou Bossam in LA’s Koreatown.

Half Fritada, Half Hornado

First, congratulations to Donny, whose photo exhibition at the James Beard House went up this week, Brian tried the cold-brewed coffee at Kickstand, Blondie went to Queens for a late night food crawl down Roosevelt Avenue, Brownie managed to wait less than 15 minutes to eat at Shake Shack – in Connecticut, Chris wrote up a beginner’s guide to Singapore’s street food and I needed help from the coca leaf to adjust to the altitude in Peru.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Andrea tried a couple slices at Liberato’s Pizza Downtown, Jamie found what might be her favorite Banh Mi in Philadelphia and Zach has a new go-to ramen spot in Culver City, Los Angeles.
