Contributor Stalking (The “Glorious Seafood” edition)

Blondie took a beach day and ate burgers and ice cream in the Rockaways, Brownie discovered Canadian-style “All Dressed” potato chips in Maine, Donny had some tasty Peruvian food at Urubamba in Queens, Brian trekked to The Bronx to try the peanut punch at Ali’s Trinidad Roti Shop and I’m still traveling, but my photos of David Kinch in the Bon Appetit test kitchen were just published.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Jamie had chicken soup at El Costoño in Philly, Andrea checked out the original Harry’s Italian Downtown, and Zach found Japanese curry and Italian pasta together at Fat Spoon in Downtown LA.

Contributor Stalking (The “$18 For a Drink?!” Edition)

Do you wonder what the ML contributors do when they’re not eating lunch in Midtown? (We’re actually pretty easy to stalk!)

Brian broke the bank on an $18 cocktail at Lamb’s Club, Blondie also got a little spendy at Coolhaus with a $6 ice cream sandwich, Souvlaki GR’s brick and mortar shop took Brownie on a quick trip to Greece, Donny checked out the old school hospitality in Chinatown’s Mee Sum Cafe, Chris H checked out the Chinatown Duck Burger at Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen in Napa Valley and I’m writing this from Peru, where I had a tasty pork sandwich at Juanito’s in Cuzco.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Andrea tried the classic banh mi at Nicky’s Downtown, Jamie found a pho alternative at Thang Long in Philly, and Zach tracked down an All You Can Eat Japanese buffet in Downtown L.A.

Donny got a look behind the scenes at P&H Soda, Blondie tried the maple cotton candy at Liddabit Sweet, Brownie had bacon and crack cookie ice cream at Ample Hills Creamery, Brian tried brunch at Maialino and I had a spaghetti sandwich at M Wells before they shut down later this month.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Zach had some traditional German sausage at wirsthaus, Jamie had a hefty bento box at Misora Express and Andrea found a tasty pork salad at Bennie’s Thai Cafe.

Donny photographed the cooking process for Sea Bean Goods, Brian had Venison Nachos at Waterfront Ale House, Blondie has learned to love anchovies, Brownie checked out the Serious Eats Sandwich festival and I scouted out opening day at Brooklyn’s new Dekalb Market.

Elsewhere in the ML universe, Zach hits up a Thai Costco in L.A.’s Chinatown, Jamie discovered authentic Korean food in Northeast Philly and Andrea waited for tilapia and rice and beans from Sandra’s Food Spot Downtown.

In light of the sweltering weather, Brian tracked down the most beautiful cone in the world and Blondie lunched on ice cream sandwiches from The Good Batch; Donny made himself a pretty delicious looking pork chop sandwich, Brownie checked out the new veggie pita on the Souvlaki Truck GR menu, Chris had Tibetan food in Queens and I had all sorts of good stuff at Bed-Stuy’s Do or Dine.

Around the ML Universe, Andrea had some great looking falafel, Jamie had home-style Polish food and Zach talked LA lunch options on KCRW’s Good Food (which you can listen to here).

Contributor Stalking (The “Purple Yam” Edition)

It was Blondie’s birthday and she celebrated with an ice cream pie from Sylas & Maddy’s in Kansas, while Brownie and Brian H. both hit up the Purple Yam in Ditmas Park.  Chris H. found delicious momos from a Himalayan Cart in Jackson Heights, Clay scored seats at the chef’s table for a dinner at Lunetta, and Donny likes the dim sum at Nom Wah.

Elsewhere in the ML Universe… Andrea scored a tasty chicken parm hero from the All American Diner Truck in the FiDi, Jamie followed up her stint as a Vendy Awards judge with some mofongo in Northeast Philly, and I find delicious Poke Poke on Venice Beach.

Yesterday was Blondie’s birthday and she celebrated with this delicious looking strawberry pie, Brownie stuck with the pie theme and got a slice of blueberry pie from Four & Twenty Blackbirds, Brian decided that it’s time for some ice cream, Donny finally tracked down Filipino food at Philly Pinoy, and I wrote a guide on SLR food photography on Foodspotting.

Elsewhere in the ML Universe, Zach splurged on some amazing looking Peruvian food in Downtown L.A., Andrea wrote about a Korean BBQ kiosk near City Hall and Jamie tried out the ‘Holy Grail’ of pork as she gets ready to judge Philly’s first Vendy awards this weekend.

Blondie was in Kansas and tried some of the food carts at the Lawrence Farmers Market, Donny had a great looking dinner at Mile End in Brooklyn, Brian H checked out 900 Degrees with 13 other pizza aficionados, and Chris H. bestowed 5 stars on the Friday only Tamales y Elotes cart in Elmhurst.  Also, if you’re a fan of Nespresso, Blondie and Brownie are giving away a Nespresso Pixie Machine to celebrate Blondie’s birthday.

Around the rest of the ML Universe… Andrea finally made it over to the Souvlaki GR Truck downtown, Jamie tried Senegalese food for the first time in West Philly, and I couldn’t help but hit up the new Los Angeles branch of Papaya King.
