Weds in July is $1 Ice Cream Day at Ciao Bella: To celebrate Ice Cream Month (who knew?) the Ciao Bella in Grand Central Terminal dining concourse will be offering a single scoop of gelato or sorbet for only $1 every Wednesday in July from 3-5pm. Do it. Do it.

Sweetery & Eddie’s Are Still Trying 6th Ave.: Today DNAinfo reports that many trucks are switching to carts or moving to the east side, but a few are sticking it out. Sweetery is on 50th and 6th Ave., while Eddie's expects to be on 46th btw. 5+6th (even though they have a new cart they could bring to Midtown.) Also Bian Dang is on 39th btw. 8+9th, Kimchi Truck is on 47th & Lex, and Luke's Lobster is in Columbus Circle- but you'll obviously want to check the ML Twitter Tracker before heading out.

L.A. Better Not Get Xi’an Famous Before Midtown: Eight months after Xi'an Famous Foods ran a survey looking for suggestions for new locations, they're now hinting at opening a branch in Los Angeles! Seriously?! Don't they know that Midtown is just a 6 train ride away? On the plus side, we might be getting a branch of the L.A. burger joint Umami Burger. Still, think of the noodles...

Tomorrow is Last Day for Chubby Porky: If you thought today was the last day to score Cer Te's June sandwich of the month, and their DOH battle hasn't scared you away, fear not. Tomorrow (Friday) is actually the last day for Chubby Chinese Girl's Chubby Porky. Looks like a good Fourth of July weekend send off lunch to me!

Food Trucks Are Still Parking in Midtown: The Twitter Tracker isn't nearly as empty as you would expect after yesterday's New York Times article... Crisp on Wheels will be on 54th btw. Park+Mad, Gorilla Cheese is on 55th and 6th, Wafels & Dinges is on 46th btw. 5+6th, Eddie's Pizza is on 52nd btw. Lex+3rd, Korilla is on 39th & 9th, and Bian Dang is on 53rd btw. Lex+3rd- although they're warning that this could be the last day. But now more than ever you should double check before heading out.

Chipotle Raises Prices: If you already think Chipotle is expensive, you'll want to close your eyes for this one. Gothamist is reporting that due to increase food costs the NYC locations have raised the price of almost everything by 50 cents. Normally we'd tear these guys apart, but Zach proclaimed a truce back in January.

Your First Look at Potbelly Sandwich Shop: No word when Midtown will be getting its two Potbelly Sandwich locations (one in Midtown East and one in Rock Center), but the FiDi location of the Chicago chain opened yesterday and Andrea has your first look over on our Downtown section.

Food Truck Crackdown Confirmed by the Times: We've been covering the big food truck crackdown in Midtown for weeks now, but there is something extra disheartening about seeing it in the paper of record. Today's New York Times devotes a full article to the news, complete with interviews of the Treats Truck and Rickshaw Dumpling.
