Free Pret Alert: This just in from Lunch'er Monique: "It's a new pret-a-manger day. They're giving away free food at the location on 36th and 7th. It's a smaller location but it's great! I spoke with the manager, they officially open on monday!" Not sure how long this is good for, so you may want to get over there quick. UPDATE: And they're done. 700 lunches in 30 mins. If any of you had access to this info earlier, and didn't share it with your fellow Midtown Lunchers, be ashamed. Be very very ashamed.

AMNY Lunches in Midtown West: Wednesday's AMNY had a weeks worth of lunches in Midtown West that included Midtown Lunch'ing favorites like Las Poblanitas, Lazzara's, Norimaki, and Macaron Cafe.  Although as one of our commenters pointed out on Cinco de Mayo, the $4 burrito at Las Poblanitas doesn't really exist, and three real tacos will actually run you $6-$7.50.

Profiled Lunch’er Infidelity: The Seamless Web blog (yes, they have a blog) has started a "Seamless Webber of the Week" feature that looks awfully familiar. Sure, profiles are nothing new- but I can't seem to shake the feeling that I've seen this week's SeamlessWebber  before.

50% off Everything at New Deli: via Lunch'er Renee: "A new deli just opened on 44th btw. Mad+5th called Green Cafe. They are running a 50% off lunch special for the cold and hot buffet from 11am to 3pm. I actually purchased a salad and also got 50% off. It was delicious and only $3.97. Definitely worth it! I asked the cashier when the promotion was over. She said early next week, but the flyer says May 8th."

Shorty’s Looking to Expand to the East Side: Eater has it that Shorty's, the Philly inspired cheesesteak shop on 9th Ave. btw. 41+42nd, is looking to expand "with a special focus on Murray Hill." This is the spot that used to be an official Tony Luke's franchise, who announced a few months ago that they too are looking at expanding into NYC by next year.

More Free KFC Grilled Chicken: If that whole "one free piece of grilled chicken" day wasn't enough for you, Lunch'er David pointed us to this coupon for two free pieces of KFC grilled chicken, two sides and a biscuit. The only catch is, you have to print the coupon out before 11 p.m. EST tonight (Tuesday, May 5th.) tomorrow night (Wednesday, May 6th.)

Grease Truck Sandwich Reminder: If you missed out last week, don't forget that Papa Perrone's Truck (on 55th btw. Mad+Park) will be serving up his version of the Rutgers grease truck sandwiches again today. For those who don't know, that's chicken fingers + french fries + mozzarella sticks on a roll, covered in sauce. Definitely will make for a good first layer to soak up all that tequila you will be pouring into your stomach after work.

Uncle Marky’s Organics Closes: First Zen Burger and now this... Midtown vegetarians have lost another of their beloved East side spots, with Grub Street breaking the news yesterday that Uncle Marky's Organics (on 53rd btw. 2+3rd) has been forced to close. According to the post on GS, the owner is looking for a new location in the area.

Bruegger’s Bagels Looks Towards New York City: According to NRN, the Bruegger's Bagel chain is looking to open 15 locations in NYC, starting with a location in Midtown near Times Square. I guess there aren't a ton of bagel places in Midtown (Ess-a-Bagel and Times Square Hot Bagels are the only two that come to mind), but it still seems like a weird business move.  Anybody ever tried this place? Where do you get your Midtown bagel fix? [NRN via Wined & Dined]
