Ask ML: Strawberry Shortcake: "Love your blog — read it obsessively. Down to business. It’s my 23rd birthday and my Dad (also a chef instructor) would always make me the freshest yummiest strawberry shortcake on my b'day. Unfortunately, I’m moved a few states away. Where can I get a piece for lunch? In midtown?!? I must find a spot before 1pm today. Or…shudder…I might go to Junior’s in Grand Central. Thanks!!"

Yolato Confirmation: The gelato display at the newly opened Golosi (on Park Ave. btw. 41+42nd) "has remained exactly the same" as when it was Yolato. [Elaine Perlov]

NY Post Knows Their Street Meat: The NY Post featured a round up of the best street carts below Central Park on Sunday, and it's packed with a who's who of Midtown Lunch favorites. In fact, if you read this site on a regular basis, there isn't a single piece of new Midtown information in the article, except for a brief mention of "tandoori chicken" at the Magdy's Cheesesteak cart (on Park & 46th.) Did I miss something at this cart, or is tandoori just a third name for their standard chicken over rice plate?

Midtown Nuts4Nuts Carts Are Weedless: Fork in the Road was kind of enough to post a link to this google map that shows all the roasted nut carts where you can also score some marijuana. For some reason, none of the Midtown carts are participating in this amazing program. Unless you know something we don't know...

I Thought Eric Ripert Cared: I'll admit I was kind of excited when I saw the words: "Hi, Midtown Lunch. Eric Ripert is now following your updates on Twitter." Too bad it was a big hoax.

Free Gelato Confirmation: Wanted to clear up any confusion in the comments about today's free gelato giveaway at Golosi, the new pizza by the inch place on Park Ave. btw. 41+42nd (in the old Yolato space.) From the PR guy: "Customers will get one free scoop of gelato of their choice with pizza purchase. The minimum pizza purchase is three inches." That's pretty clear, which is good considering the history this space has with free gelato giveaways. They open at 11 a.m.

Big Burger News: We're hearing rumors that a certain good burger place might be bringing back a certain egg and hash brown topped burger as a possible entry into the Midtown Lunch Sandwich Challenge. And if it happens, it will be served during lunchtime. Details coming soon...

Out of Bounds Soul Fixins Closes: I've always considered Soul Fixins (on 34th just East of 9th Ave.) and honorary Midtown Lunch (even though I never wrote about it I always wanted too). And now it's gone. Fressa Girl posted the news yesterday... but you can still visit them at their other location on 28th Street btw. 7+8th.

Eat Kosher Today, or Wait Another Week: With Passover starting tomorrow night at sundown, you may want to get that last Kosher falafel in today. Not sure about Moshe's Falafel, but Kosher Deluxe , Olympic Pita (38th btw. 5+6th), and Taam Tov will all be closed tomorrow through the end of Passover. Pick a Pita (on 8th Ave. btw. 39+40th) will be open tomorrow until sundown, and Crisp isn't closing at all (heathens!) Passover ends at sundown on April 15th.
