Friday is Last Day to Get Your Tafu On: A Passion for Food sends worth that Tafu, the Japanese tea and sweets shop on 51st btw. Lex+3rd, will be closing for good on Friday. This is the only brick and mortar store for Mitzy's Macarons, so you may want to stock up while you still can.

How Many Inches Before It’s Too Much?: Blondie and Brownie become the latest site to weigh in on Golosi, the new pizza/gelato combo on Park Ave. btw. 41+42nd. They seem much more excited about the presence of frozen Yolato soft serve, but had some nice things to say about the potato pizza as well (despite worrying "How many inches is too many inches?")

Baoguette Planning Two More Midtown Locations: Back in March, we urged Baoguette to expand into Midtown proper, and it looks like they might be taking our advice. via Always Hungry's twitter: "Apparently two more baoguettes are opening in midtown - straight from the guys at the original lex location."

Passover Ends Tonight, Kosher Falafel Returns Tomorrow: Of course I didn't realize that until *after* I had trekked all the way to Azuri Cafe on 51st btw. 9+10th (obviously it was closed.) I guess that's what I get for being such a bad Jew. Pick a Pita and Kosher Deluxe will both be open tomorrow, Olympic Pita, I'm not sure about. In related news, the new location of Crisp is not opening tomorrow (as they had originally hoped.) It's looking like they will open next week.

Black Label: More on the City Burger saga in the comments, courtesy of Josh Ozersky: "Actually, it was Black Label when they started, but then La Frieda gave the exclusive to Minetta. They came up with a new and inferior, but still very good mix to replace it. The problem with CB has always been its execution, not its supply. -Josh"

Dessert Truck Brings Back Goat Cheese Cheesecake: Apparently it's "goat cheese season", so Dessert Truck sends word that starting today they're serving their goat cheese cheesecake again (it comes topped with a rosemary caramel and blackberries.) The Dessert Truck can normally be found daily on Lex & 55th (or you can follow them on Twitter.)

What’s in the Sophie’s Cuban Green Sauce?: Inspired by this post on the Serious Eats: New York forum, I emailed Sophie's Cuban to find out what exactly is in their green sauce. Their response: "It is a modification of peruvian aji, the only difference is that we are using jalapenos instead of the peruvian chile, which is called rocoto." Whatever the hell it is, it tastes pretty damn good on their pork and plantain sandwich!

AHT Deems Prime Burger Unworthy: When I ate at Prime Burger (on 51st btw. Mad+5th) that first (and only time) a couple of years ago, my problems were mostly with the price- but Beef Aficianado Nick Solares takes issue with the meat in his recent review on A Hamburger Today, saying that "in the modern world the burger here is just a relic, rendered obsolete by our contemporary expectations." Can't argue with that... [A Hamburger Today]

Is Free Golosi on Tax Day A Sham?: "I decided to give Golosi a shot today. Noone working there knew about the buy 1″ get 1″ free special, but there is some sort of free gelato coupons they give with pizza orders." Oh boy... here we go again. I called the location but they're not answering. Anybody get free pizza today? UPDATE: PR person wrote in to the deal is being honored for all slices... The earlier problems were a staff mix-up.

Twitter For Your Lunch: Here's a great article (and I'm not just saying that because I'm quoted... ok maybe I am) about the recent trend of Twittering trucks, like ML favorites The Treats Truck, Rickshaw Dumpling Truck, & the Dessert Truck. [New York Observer]
