Cafe Zaiya Has a Great Fried Fish Sandwich: From the ML Forums: According to Lunch'er "Clues" if you can get a hot one, Cafe Zaiya (on 41st btw. Mad+5th) is making the best fried fish sandwich in Midtown. Between this and the Happy Well Being House Cart (if they ever come back), I may have to re-write this post.

Happy Well Being House is MIA: Everybody's new favorite Korean fried fish and bulgogi cart has been missing for the past three days. If you have any information on the Happy Well Being House Cart, which parks on 50th btw. 6+7th, please post it in the forums.

I Want My Two Dollars!: Two deals via Twitter today: Goodburger is doing another $2 off a milkshake at all locations today from 3-5pm, and you can get a $2 off coupon for Minar (on 46th btw. 6+7th) from this website. [Milkshake, Indian Food]

Risotto Challenge: This weekend I'm warming up for my stint as a Vendy Award judge by judging a Risotto contest on Saturday (5/23) from 1-5pm  at Jimmy's No.43. Nothing to do with Midtown, but it is all you can eat risotto for $20, with proceeds going to Just Food (and there are still a few spots open if you want to enter your own risotto creation.)  Get all the information here.

The Complete List of Food Trucks and Street Carts That Twitter: There were some who thought the New York Observer article 3 weeks ago was late, and yet every day seems to bring another media piece about the mobile food twittering phenomenom.  CNET weighed in yesterday, and today Serious Eats has posted the most useful resource to date: a complete list of all the food vendors that twitter around the country.

Free Hot Dog Alert: From Lunch'er "Sarah": "Right now there are three Oscar Meyer Wiener mobiles in Times Square handing out free hot dogs, with picnic benches and everything."

In the Forums: Egg/Shrimp/Tuna Salad Sandwiches: "Where can I get the best egg, shrimp and tuna salad on a bagel? I'm on 42nd and 6th, willing to walk up to 15 minutes in any direction, there must be a non-generic-deli option out there?" Reply to "Angie's Matt" in the Forums

Macaron Cafe on Martha: The Calexico Cart, and Daisy May's BBQ aren't the only one to get some Martha Stewart love this month.  Apparently the macarons from Macaron Cafe (on 36th btw. B'way+7th) will be featured on Martha's NBC show on Wednesday (5/20) at 11 a.m.

Tina Fey Needs to Read Midtown Lunch!: Liz Lemon on last week's 30 Rock: ""He's gonna take me out to lunch anywhere I wanna go. Do you know if there's a sit-down Quizno's in Midtown?" I'm going to take solace in the fact that this was probably just for comedy (and product placement $$$)

Free Sample Alert: Today from 3 to 6 pm the Grand Central Market (enter on Lexington & 43rd) will be awash with free samples (to celebrate the start of grilling season?) Participating food purveyors include Murray's Cheese, Murray's Salami, Li-Lac Chocolates, Wild Edibles, Zaro's Bread Basket, Ceriello Fine Foods, Pescatore Seafood, Koglin Royal Hams, and more.
