Today from 3 to 6 pm the Grand Central Market (enter on Lexington & 43rd) will be awash with free samples (to celebrate the start of grilling season?) Participating food purveyors include Murray’s Cheese, Murray’s Salami, Li-Lac Chocolates, Wild Edibles, Zaro’s Bread Basket, Ceriello Fine Foods, Pescatore Seafood, Koglin Royal Hams, and more.

made a couple of passes and scored chicken, artichoke, & pepper sausage and pork, cheese, & parsley sausage from ceriello; cubes of watermelon from greenwich produce; grilled wiener and another spicy sausage (name beginning with “s”) from koglin; dark chocolate s’mores piece from li-lac; grilled halloumi from murray’s; farmer’s diner hot dog served with jalapeno sauerkraut, soppressata, and pickle from murray’s; iced coffee from oren’s; grilled shrimp from pescatore; and banana cream and coconut cream pie from zaro’s. all very tasty snacks, with the jalapeno sauerkraut being the surprising highlight. thanx, zach, for the heads-up!
