Twitter Tracker Brings Ice Cream Success: The newly launched Midtown Lunch Twitter Tracker has its first official success story! Yesterday it helped lead Blondie and Brownie to the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, which "has been hitting midtown in the evening hours of late."

More Street Vendor Trouble: Over the weekend the NYDN reported that a hot dog vendor was escorted to the police precinct (cart in tow) for not having a valid license, and the Post is confirming today that the Health Dept. wants to "yank the permits of more than 500 street food vendors" who may have gotten their permits in an illegal way. Looks like planning the Vendy Awards is the least of the things the Street Vendor Project will be tied up with this summer.

All Food Recs Should Come From Taxi Drivers: This could be the best food blog I've seen since... well... ever. This girl Layne hails a taxi, tells the cabbie to take her to his or her favorite restaurant in NYC, eats there, and writes about the whole adventure. Amazing. Free Monday Mojito Alert: No Midtown Happy Hour post today (or tomorrow) but here's a little something to make up for it: The bar in the Crowne Plaza Times Square (On Broadway and 49th) will be serving free mojitos every Monday from 6pm to 8pm, throughout the Summer. [via RareDaily]

The Hallo Berlin Cart Goes MIA Again: It's that time of year again. The Hallo Berlin cart (on 54th & 5th) disappears, and everyone wonders what happened to them. Don't worry... the Babiel brothers are away on their annual July vacation, and will be back in August.

Biryani Confirmation: The Trini Paki Boys cart is planning on having biryani every single day this week. Today's flavor: goat! Awww yeah. (Dahi bala fans will have to wait until Thursday though. The Pakistani snack is a ton of work, and is still a one day a week a special.)
