Here we go again! Remember when Yushi (on 47th btw. Park+Lex) first launched their lunchtime conveyor belt, and gave away free lunch to a few lucky Midtown Lunchers? Well now that they’ve reconfigured their conveyor belt to be completely refrigerated they want to give free food away to ten more Midtown Lunch’ers. To win, all you have to do is comment below with the reasons why you should be chosen. 10 winners will be randomly selected in a drawing this Friday (7/17) at 3pm, and will get to have lunch at Yushi’s new conveyor belt one day next week with a friend. (Each winner and their guest will get a free drink and any four plates off the conveyor belt- probably because the previous winners pigged out too much!) Good luck! Free Ice Cream Alert: In celebration of National Ice Cream month (who knew?), Blue Bunny Ice Cream will be giving away free "Champ! Cones" on 50th & 7th Ave. beginning at Noon today, Wednesday, and Thursday. I guess this is their way of letting people know that they no longer top their cones with peanuts that might have salmonella.

Free Tim Hortons Update: Getting conflicting info about the Monday morning free coffee giveaway from Tim Hortons, the Canadian chain replacing all Riese owned Dunkin Donuts locations on Monday morning. According to their newly created Twitter account, free coffee will be given out at all locations, all day long (starting at 6am). This conflicts with the original giveaway info, so as soon as I get the full confirmation I'll post it here. UPDATE: The official press release confirms the original info- free coffee, only at the Penn Station location, from 6-9am.

Free Tim Hortons Alert: Monday morning, Tim Hortons will celebrate their arrival in New York City by giving away free coffee at their Penn Station location (in the LIRR concourse) from 6am to 9am.

2009 Summer Restaurant Week starts on Sunday, and to kick things off there’s going to be some free food action this Thursday (7/9) on the second floor of the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle. From Noon to 2pm enjoy “VIP gourmet tastings from five top NYC Restaurant Week eateries — Tribeca Grill, Porter House New York, Spice Market, Bice Ristorante and DB Bistro Moderne.” Freeloaders, you may want to mark this one on your calendar.

Free Monday Mojito Alert: No Midtown Happy Hour post today (or tomorrow) but here's a little something to make up for it: The bar in the Crowne Plaza Times Square (On Broadway and 49th) will be serving free mojitos every Monday from 6pm to 8pm, throughout the Summer. [via RareDaily]

Fresh on the heels of our cold noodles post yesterday, the website 89th and Broke sends word of this supposed free deal: “To celebrate its 20th year anniversary, Menchanko-Tei, a Japanese ramen/noodle house in midtown west is offering to pick up the tab… if you win a one-shot game of Jan-Ken-Pon (Rock-Paper-Scissors) with the restaurant’s manager.” A call to the restaurant confirms that the promotion is being held at both locations, but there’s one downside… they’re not doing it at lunchtime! It’s only for dinner, and it’s not every table. They choose 5 tables randomly throughout the night (starting at 5pm.) According to 89th and Broke, it’s just until Friday. Good luck!
