Oh, Eggstravaganza; we knew ye way back when you were still a cart. It’s been a while since we posted about your dishes, so in case you forgot… here’s some of the deliciousness you can find at Eggstravaganza.

When I was little, all the other kids got to load up their Easter baskets with colorful treasures, while I was stuck saying prayers over the seder plate. So this year, I go on my very first East egg hunt. Clay captured the entire thing on video as I searched for as many eggs as possible around Midtown.
Watch the hunt after the jump….
The Eggstravaganza Cart is trading up to a truck and it should be hitting the streets this week. Owner, Arturo Macedo, told me that he’s looking forward to expanding his menu in the larger space. The truck is currently being wrapped though it may be on the streets as a generic looking white truck today. Arturo is planning some giveaways (free food!) for the grand opening,
which will hopefully be as soon as Wednesday, alas, isn’t going to happen for a few more days now, we’ll keep you posted with any details as we get them! As of now the plan is to remain in their regular spot on the northeast corner of 52nd and Park. Keep tabs on them via twitter @ETRAVAGANZA.

Last time I ate at the Eggs Travaganza cart (which was also my first time) I really wanted the steak and egg taco. Sadly, by the time I got to the cart, they had already sold out of the tortillas to make tacos. I accepted their offer to make the steak and egg in a burrito form. While I had imagined the egg in the burrito to be at least visible, all I saw were steak and rice. I did find the burrito delicious, so the lack of eggs didn’t end up being a big deal.
On my second trip back to the cart, I made sure to go early (1 p.m.), and I was rewarded with the steak and egg taco ($4).
I’m a little embarrassed to admit that as a lover of all egg dishes I still haven’t been to the Eggs Travaganza cart. I know it’s not right, but in my defense it’s been pretty damn cold. So now that it’s full on Spring time, I have no more excuse to walk the two avenues eight blocks for some egg burrito action. When I found the cart on the corner of 52nd & Park Ave, it took me a while to go through the menu and it took me even longer to decide what to eat since everything sounded delicious. I was thinking maybe I’ll just grab a few tacos, steak and eggs naturally. Sadly they said they were out of tortillas for tacos but they could still make a steak and eggs burrito ($7). That to me sounded just fine.
Eggstravaganza Makes One of NY’s 9 Best Egg Dishes: Yesterday, Ed Levine reconfirmed his love of the chorizo, egg and cheese sandwich from the Eggstravaganza Cart (on 52nd & Park) by naming it one of the 9 best egg dishes in New York City. It was the only egg dish in Midtown to make the list. Got a better one we should know about? Put it in the comments.

Spotted this on yesterday’s ML Twitter Tracker but totally forgot to mention it… The Eggstravaganza Cart (on 52nd and Park) is going to be featured on the brunch/breakfast episode of Foodography w/Mo Rocca alongside Aquavit and Chinatown Brasserie. How cool is that? The episode airs this Sunday (1/23) at 9pm on the Cooking Channel. [via Twitter]
As if I needed more reasons to stalk the ML Twitter Tracker (hopefully it will be fixed soon!), this week it brought me news of several new lunch menu items from the Eggs Travaganza Cart (on 52nd and Park). These are the same folks that brought me that de-freaking-licious Bacon and Chorizo Grilled Cheese sandwich, so naturally I had to check it out.
