What Passes For a Chowhound These Days?: We're certainly aware that the way we grossly stuff our faces on a daily basis our taste in lunch is not for everybody, but I was kind of surprised to see this kind of language on Chowhound. Isn't dysentery precisely what you're looking to get when you mine for places on Chowhound? Oh, and by the way... don't knock the fake shrimp until you try them!  Soooo good.

Papa Perrone Having Technical Issues: Papa Perrone's truck is having some issues, so he won't be out today.  And Rickshaw had some trouble at their spot in Columbus Circle (cops and halal guys, natch.)  But Eddie's Pizza is on 46th, Treats Truck is on 45th, Street Sweets is on 46th, and Korilla and Schnitzel are in the Flatiron. What Do Cabbies Know About Mexican Food?: Our good friend Layne Mosler (aka "The Taxi Gourmet") hit up the Burrito Box on 9th Ave. btw 57+58th after a cab driver told her they had the best salsa in New York City. She liked the steak and salsa, but was pretty disappointed in the rice, guacamole, and tortilla (which buckled under the weight of the monster burrito.)

Homemade Pastitsio & Mr. Potato Skin: It's a wet ML Twitter Tracker today, but everybody is still working... Mexicue is on 57th, Frites N Meats is on 52nd, Schnitzel & Things is on 46th with veal, Wafels and Dinges is on 52nd, Uncle Gussy's is on 51st with mom's homemade pastitsio, Eddie's Pizza is on 52nd, and Cer Te is bringing back the Mr. Potato Skin permanently as a Tuesday special.

New 99 Cent Fresh Pizza Now Open: Remember the new location of 99 Cent Fresh Pizza Brownie spotted under construction last month on Broadway btw. 54+55th?  Lunch'er Mike checked in yesterday to let us know it's now open for business.

Today is Free Taco Day!: Just a friendly reminder... everybody who shows up at La Biblioteca today from 11:30 am to 12:30pm will receive a free order of 3 tacos. Can't make it there on time?  Everybody who gets there after 12:30pm will get a free order of guacamole instead.
