Contributor Stalking (The “Ceviche for Brunch” edition)

Do you wonder what the ML contributors do when they’re not eating lunch in Midtown? (We’re actually pretty easy to stalk!)

Blondie wants to eat all the brick chicken at Potlikker in Williamsburg, Brownie reverse engineered the recipe for Red Lobster cheesy biscuits, Brian counts the banana pudding at Magnolia Bakery as one of his favorite desserts in town, Rachel had sushi for dinner and I am looking forward to a ceviche brunch in Peru this weekend.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Jamie found a place that makes kathi rolls in Philadelphia, Andrea had a massive pork cemita from Tacos El Idolo and Zach ate at 10 Korean restaurants in Los Angeles in 15 days.

Brian tried Thai ice cream at Sky Ice in Park Slope, Rachel had Hong Kong street noodles at Grub Street Food Festival at Hester Street Fair, Blondie is going to be debating red velvet cupcakes next week, Brownie splurged on brunch at Talde and I looked back at the 12 course tasting menu I had at Astrid y Gaston in Lima.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Zach tried out the taco options at a truck that specializes in al pastor in Los Angeles, Jamie got mussels for lunch at a beer bar in Philly and Andrea cured what ailed her with a carby, meaty soup at Soma by nature downtown.

Brownie gives us a look at past Burmese food she’s had at the Myanmar Baptist Church Food Fair. This year’s fest is coming up this weekend.

Brian completed his third and final year going through Time Out NY’s 100 Best dishes in New York, Rachel played hooky and had brunch at home, Blondie had fancy desserts at Gotham Bar and Grill, Brownie is heading to Queens this weekend to explore Burmese foodat The Myanmar Baptist Food Fair and I am planning another trip down to South America.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Andrea is psyched that pasteles have returned to the menu at Sandra’s Food Spot Cart downtown, Jamie checked out Asian fusion tacos in Philly and Zach perused the three new stone pot bibimbaps at Jeon Ju in Los angeles.

Blondie gives us a long list of upcoming food events in the next two weeks, Brownie checks out Mayhem & Stout, Brian has the duck lunch at Momofuku Ssam Bar, Rachel gets up close and personal with a Chicken pita and I got to walk down section three of the High Line.

Now that it’s October, Brownie is looking forward to food book events, while Blondie is all about Oktoberfest… that seems about right. Brian finally had the awesome blood orange doughnuts at Dough, Rachel made lemongrass ginger iced tea at home and I celebrated the end of summer in Brooklyn at Atlantic Antic.

Elsewhere in the ML Universe… Jamie visits the King of Fried Things in Philly, Andrea has nothing good to say about the banh mi at Yushi downtown and Zach discovered shabu shabu – and doesn’t make any Ricardo Montalban jokes – at Khan’s Shabu Shabu in Los Angeles.

Clay headed up to Harlem to photograph cuchifritos for Edible, Brian’s surrendered on his search for the best local beer, Brownie made funnel cake at home while I ate a roasted pig at Hurricane Club, and I bet you $10 Rachel is wishing she had another plate of roasted chicken right now (keep up the faith, the sun’s almost down!)

Elsewhere in the ML universe…Andrea found out you get a mixed bag of wontons in your soup from Ho Yip downtown, Jamie tried Philly’s Lil Dan’s truck’s new creation: Oreo-crusted chicken, and Zach came out about LA’s lunch shortcomings.

Rachel had vegan twinkies fron Cinnamon Snail at the Vendys, Blondie is excited for the Village Voice Brooklyn Pour beer festival, Brownie wrote about Kelvin’s boozy slushies they demoed at the Vendys, Brian had his favorite hot dog to date at Dominick’s in Queens and I at my way through…wait for it… The Vendys!

Blondie and Brownie have been mixing booze with Kelvin Slushes in preparation for Vendy Awards fun… and they wrote a post about the slushes for the Vendy Awards blog. Andrea reports Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Truck is hitting the streets of Soho, while Brian tried black grape sorbet at Il Laboratorio Del Gelato and sampled fried pig tails at The Brooklyn Star.

Elsewhere in the ML universe… Clay has been taking pictures of Brisketlab’s meat, Zach has been enjoying brisket, steak, and banchan at Man Kang in LA’s K-town, Jamie ate the Blue Belly BBQ Platter in Philly, and Rachel cooked breakfast tacos.
