Schnitzel & Things Deal Alert: I have to admit, I haven't purchased anything from Groupon in a really long time (no, I still don't want laser hair removal, thanks). Imagine my surprise when something good hit my inbox: $6 for $12 worth of food at Schnitzel & Things! It looks like the deal is good both at the store and the truck, and there are a couple of options to choose from. I new I didn't quit Groupon for a reason!

We haven’t really discussed Guelaguetza — a Hell’s Kitchen bodega that serves tacos in the back — on this blog, because it is woefully out of bounds on 47th between 10th and 11th avenues. (So. Far. West!) But, the deal we’ve got on our deals page today might make the trek worth your while. Considering everything is super cheap anyway, paying $6 for $12 worth of food will get you a Mexican feast at Guelaguetza. Back in 2008 I wrote about one of my favorite Hell’s Kitchen dinner spots for Serious Eats, the Mediterranean deli slash kind of romantic at night dinner spot Kashkaval. It never really got mentioned on ML because… well… I guess I don’t know why we never mentioned it! I suppose it was outside the “official” boundaries, but they are open for lunch and most of their menu hovers around the $10 mark- like their oven baked panini or a platter of their assorted Mediterranean spreads. If you’ve never tried the place, or you’re already a big fan, you’re going to want to check out our deals page asap. You can score $20 worth of food at Kashkaval for just $10 until the end of the day on Thursday. It doesn’t make up for all these years of neglect, but hopefully it’s a start.
