Dim Sum Go Go: A Jury Duty Lunch For When You’re Feeling Flush

A while ago one of my friends persuaded me to eat at Dim Sum Go Go on E. Broadway (at Chatham Sq.), and it wasn’t bad. No, you don’t get the charm of the carts going by, but if you’re looking for a somewhat quick dim sum lunch near City Hall and the government buildings and courthouses it’s a good option. While there I noticed they had a 10-piece dim sum platter on the lunch menu for precisely $10 and decided to go back and see if it was worth bypassing the cheaper options in Chinatown.

Adel’s Falafel Plate Is Good, But Has Some Flaws

A couple of weeks ago, one of our Profiled Lunch’ers mentioned her love of a falafel plate (with extra white sauce) from Adel’s Halal cart at Maiden Lane & Front St. Lo and behold, we’ve never written about the cart’s falafel, only gave it a shout out in a review of their lamb/chicken over rice. There’s always a line in front of the cart which isn’t too common at halal carts in the Financial District unless you’re Sam’s Falafel or Alan’s Falafel – both of which put out great food, so it would make sense that if there’s also a line at Adel’s there must be a reason. San Luis Tacos Is Back At Its Regular Spot

Good news for fans of good Mexican (and Ecuadorian) food from a truck – San Luis Tacos truck has been back on Front St. btw. Maiden Lane & Pine every day. They disappeared for a while, but commenter Veebee clued us in (along with the truck’s owners in the forums) that the truck was back at the end of March. They’ve stopped using their Twitter, but the truck’s been in the same spot for at least a couple of weeks. When I walked by, it seemed they’ve pared the menu back to tacos, sopas, tortas, empanadas and some Ecuadorian specialties that you’ll have to ask about.
