Is Tribeca Getting A Giant Foodie Food Hall?

If you’ve ever been jealous of those who work near Grand Central Terminal, the Plaza Food Hall or Chelsea Market, there’s news out of Tribeca Citizen that the neighborhood is getting something similar. Although it’s all written in hypotheticals, the food hall at 102 Franklin St. (btw. W. Broadway & Church) sounds like it’s a done deal and will be called All Good Things. The whole thing sounds pretty amazing and includes such foodie favorites as Blue Bottle Coffee, Dickson’s Farmstand Meats and Blue Marble Ice Cream as well as a large restaurant on the lower level. The best part is it’s only a few months out from opening, and from the list of vendors, there will likely be some affordable lunch options on tap.

Soho, Cinnamon Snail’s Near You Today: Vegan lunch truck Cinnamon Snail is parking slightly out of bounds at Hudson & Clarkson (along with Domo Taco) today during their first week in the city. Also on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker, Desi Food Truck's at Hanover Sq., Big D's Grub is at Old Slip & Water, Taim is at Varick & King, Gorilla Cheese is at Hudson & King, Mike N Willie's is at Front & Gouverneur, Our Heros has chicken marsala on garlic bread at Wall & Water, Korilla's at Varick & Vandam and Phil's Steaks is at Water & John. Frites N Meats, Eddie's Pizza, Bongo Brothers, Cupcake Crew and Rickshaw Dumplings are at the WFC food truck lot.

Cinnamon Snail’s Bringing Its Vegan Food To NYC Lunchers This Week

We here at Midtown Lunch don’t normally endorse vegan food because, well, there are a lot of meaty lunches out there waiting to be eaten. If you’ve tried the Cinnamon Snail Truck’s food, that might change you mind, as it did mine, when I tasted their s’mores doughnut at a foodie event.  Last year they walked away with a Vendy Award for their vanilla bourbon creme brulee doughnuts. They’ve been mostly parking in Hoboken and Jersey City on the other side of the Hudson, but after it was made cost-prohibitive to park there anymore, they got a NYC vendor license and are ready to hit the streets starting today. Find out where they’ll be parking, and what they’ll be serving, straight ahead. Read more »

Elsewhere in Lower Manhattan, Bongo Brothers is at Varick & Vandam, Mike N Willie's is at Hudson & Clarkson, Comme Ci Comme Ca's at Old Slip & Water, Sweetery and Schnitzel & Things are at Hudson & King, Real Good Truck's at Coenties & Water, and Calexico's out at Prince & Wooster with chorizo, all according to the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker.

Meade’s Bar Offers Cheap Lunches At The Seaport Without Bras Overhead

There are a lot of places over by the South St. Seaport that I forget about until someone reminds me, and Meade’s Bar is one of those places. It’s on an obscure corner that’s currently blocked by construction, and on the same block as a bunch of other cafes and a delightfully divey bar with equally cheap lunches and decoration consisting of bras. Last week Lunch’er Robyn mentioned her love of Meade’s burger with blue cheese, and a look at the bar’s menu showed a few of the sandwiches could be had for less than $10, including fries, salad or rice. That’s a bargain not often found in or near the Financial District. Read more »
