Pie Face’s Third Location Is Open With New Breakfast Items

Pie Face has opened their third Midtown shop and first dine-in location near Penn Station at 469 Seventh Avenue (btw 35+36th). This new location will also have new menu items like mini-quiches (including spinach, provençal, sun-dried tomato with goat cheese, broccoli, and mushroom), as well as a self-serve coffee bar.

As we’ve come to expect, new Pie Face means free food, and this opening is no exception. Today from now until 6 p.m. you can try your luck at their prize wheel. And, if Penn Station is part of your commute, keep an eye out for free samples — they should be in and around Penn Station during rush hour.

Pie Face’s #PiePalooza Starts Today

Pie Face is celebrating their first anniversary in the US with #PiePalooza, a four-day celebration at both their Murray Hill and Midtown West locations. Today is National Pie Day, which means they’ll be passing out free samples of Pie Face’s savory selections in areas around their shops. If you actually go to the stores, you can try your luck with their prize wheel as well, which includes a chance to win free coffee, pies and desserts. Freeloaders, engage!

Pie Face, Multiple Locations

34th Street Pie Face Opening Means Free Food This Week: Pie Face's second location, which is on 34th+3rd, is celebrating their grand opening today. Fork in the Road has the details, but essentially this means various kinds of free food this week. Today, they are doing a mini pie giveaway at 12-2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. (lunch and dinner). Tomorrow morning at 8-9 a.m., all coffee will be free. Lastly, on Friday savory pies are free for two hours starting at 1:30 a.m. East side freeloaders, engage!

Pie Face Introduces #WakeMeUpWeds: Just an FYI if you've haven't gotten your coffee yet... starting this morning, Pie Face Midtown (on 53rd & B'way) is launching a new deal that gets you 50% the entire "Wake Me Up" menu (featuring coffee, espresso, and flat whites) every Wednesday morning from 8-9am.  Enjoy!

Another New Pie Face Opening On 34th And 3rd

Last week, we mentioned a second Midtown West location of Pie Face is replacing the Guy & Gallard on 36th & 7th. Turns out, there’s another Midtown Pie Face coming to the north east corner of 34th street and 3rd avenue, next to Carl’s Steaks. According to Grubstreet, this spot will open in the fall, before the new west side location, which will soon follow. Adorable Aussie meat pies for all!

New Pie Face Opening on 7th and 36th

Good news, everyone! There’s one less generic breakfast and sandwich chain place on the tourist-soaked hell that is 7th Ave! Pie Face, who previously dropped in out of the land of Steve Irwin, kookaburras, and flat white coffees, has taken over the space of a former Guy and Gallard on 7th just short of 36th. Has the tourist trade convinced the Pie Face chain to bring forth Australian goodness to the point that we can now find Vegemite sandwiches (begging the question of why the hell you’d ever want to eat one)?

Having spent a semester in Australia, I’m actually excited that we can now get the guilty pleasure of Australian street food in the form of a Thai chicken meat pie.  No details as to opening date yet, and the company’s website (warning: turn down your speakers unless you really like stupid comical chewing sounds – no, really) only lists the one store on 53rd and Broadway for now. I’m willing to give them time and a shot at some fair dinkum meat pies so long as the sausage rolls become available here, too.

Pie Face Offers $1 Coffee Deal

This should make the Pie Face coffee lovers from the forums very happy: I saw this sign advertising dollar coffee with any morning purchase on my way to work this morning. Pie Face is also advertising $5 for an espresso and any pastry, if that’s more your style. Either way, these deals are great for the area — nearby morning coffee competition includes Europa, Cosi, Caffe Bene and about a zillion Starbucks, all of which are pretty pricey options and frankly not so amazing.

Our First Taste of the Newly Open Pie Face

I like to think New York is one of the most diverse food meccas in the world. With so many options these days, it’s hard to believe that there are unexplored cuisines in Midtown. Yet, until Monday, I could not direct you to an Australian meat pie establishment. (Unless you have a time machine back to when Tuck Shop briefly occupied the Cyber Cycle Cafe on 49th Street.) Enter Pie Face, a meat pie takeout chain straight from down under that opened its first US shop on the corner of 53rd and Broadway this week.

Pie Face Is Open, and Thursday is Free Pie Day

Pie Face, the Australian meat pie chain we’ve been keeping our eye on for the past few months, has finally opened its doors on 53rd and Broadway. They’re serving both sweet and savory pies, as well as other breakfast (pastries) and lunch (soups, sandwiches) items, all well within the ML budget. According to several comments and a note left on my last post by someone on their PR team, they’ll be giving away free meat pies on Australia Day (Thursday, January 26) from midnight to midnight. 24 hours of free food? Freeloaders, start your engines …

Pie Face Launching Soon On Broadway

Australian meat pie company, Pie Face, is making its foray into the US market via a storefront on 53rd and Broadway, just a few feet from Steak ‘n Shake. Although their neighbor has been getting all the shine lately, the pies should be available in the coming weeks. In fact, they’re inviting fans to their January 31st launch party via the Pie Face Facebook page:

Pie Face is but days away from opening it’s first New York store and we want YOU there…. The first 30 people to rsvp will win tickets to the Penthouse launch of Pie Face NYC. Simply email your name and contact details to marketing@pieface.com.au. Please note: You must live in New York to enter.

This post went up yesterday, but most of the comments on it so far are from out-of-towners, so maybe some of those 30 spots are still available? Fingers crossed!

Side note: I wonder if David Letterman is as into meat pies as he is Steak ‘n Shake … will they also make an appearance on his show?
