Go Go Curry To Open Third NYC Location: Looks like Go Go Curry is expanding once again. Andrea over at Downtown Lunch reports that Go Go Curry will open their 3rd NYC location early next year, near the World Trade Center. No info yet on exact timing and location, but generally speaking you know what this means: Grand Slams, Go Go Days and generally awesome grub for our downtown friends!

New York Comic Com begins today, and if you’re heading to the Javits Center in costume, we have a lunch tip for you! Go! Go! Curry is holding their costume contest again this year, so take a photo of yourself in costume holding your curry lunch and upload it to their Facebook page to win various prizes (all the details are available on their blog). If you need lunch ideas for the rest of the convention, don’t forget to check out this comic con lunching guide we put together last year.
It looks like Burger Joint is the only Midtown Lunch spot having a celebration on Monday. Go Go Curry (on 38th btw. 7+8th) will celebrate having 55 locations worldwide by offering a single size katsu pork curry plate for just $5.50. Plus all customers will get free topping coupons every day of the celebration (although you can’t use them on the $5.50 pork katsu curry special.) The whole thing starts on Monday (October 1st) and goes until the 15th.
Free Go Go Curry Today: Go Go Curry fans, listen up! The Midtown location (38th st btw 7th+8th) is giving away free curry to users of the LevelUp app today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There's more information on Facebook, but it seems anything under $10 is on them if you pay with the app. Curry lovers and freeloaders, engage!

It’s that time of year again! Go Go Curry announced that their 4th Annual Go Go Curry eating championship will begin a week from today on April 25th, with five preliminary rounds occurring at both Go Go Curry locations. Then, the top five contenders will compete in the finals on May 26 at the original 38th street store.
If competitive eating isn’t your thing, perhaps a great curry deal is more your bag. Once again, to celebrate their birthday, Go Go Curry’s offering $5 on 5/5, which — because I love Japanese comfort food so much — is one of my favorite deals of the year. Mark your calendars, folks!
Congrats to Go Go Curry On Their 2nd Location: We'd like to extend a happy omedetou gozaimasu! (that's congratulations, for those of you who don't speak Japanese) to Midtown Lunch institution Go Go Curry. They will be opening a second location at 231 Thompson (btw. West 3rd & Bleecker) on March 15. It's nowhere near Midtown, but we're still thrilled for them- and there is one perk for MLers. To celebrate the new store, the original location (on 38th btw. 7+8th) will give away 5 topping coupons on March 15th as well.

New York Comic Con began yesterday, which means tens of thousands of big-time comic fans are descending upon the Javits Center to walk the convention floor and check out panels. Although we have little experience eating in Midtown in costume, we do want your lunching experience to match the fun you have at the convention.
Now, admittedly, the Javits Center is out of bounds, and the immediate area around there can be a wasteland for food … which is where we come in: Super Midtown Lunch! (Who’s imagining Zach in a cape right now? Sorry.)
Here are five spots that are a few blocks walking distance from NYCC.
The qualifying rounds have begun for the 3rd Annual Go Go Curry eating championship, and there’s great news for wannabe professional eaters. For the first year ever they have divided the participants into two fields: professionals and amateurs. You have 5 chances to qualify between now and the main event on May 28th, the first of which is tonight from 6-8pm. And who knows? Now that Kobayashi has been removed from official Nathan’s wall of fame, maybe this will be the year he finally competes in Go Go Curry’s contest! But wait… there’s more.
May 5th is just around the corner, and once again Go Go Curry (on 38th btw. 7+8th) will celebrate their anniversary (they opened on 5/5 four years ago) by offering any size curry for just $5. Mark it on your calendars… this deal is a good one.
“Furious” Pete Wins GGC Eating Championship: On Saturday, "Furious" Pete Czerwinski dispatched returning champ "Gentleman" Joe Manchetti at the 2nd Annual Go Go Curry Eating Championship. Our man "Big" Will Millender came in 3rd. Metromix was there, and posted these photos from the event.
