Best New Food Truck: Reader’s Poll 2013
It’s time for the 2013 Midtown Lunch Readers’ Poll. Your nominations are in, and between now and the end of the year we’ll be asking all of you to vote for the best Midtown Lunches in a whole range of categories. You can only vote once per category (so choose wisely), and official results will be posted after the new year.
And the food trucks keep on coming. It’s getting harder and harder to keep track of all the new trucks that appear in Midtown each year. Before the police broke it up, you could just head over to Vanderbilt and 47th Street. Now they’re a little more scattered around Midtown. A few of the new ones really stepped up their game serving delicious Asian fusion, Polish kielbasa, Neapolitan pizza that got better with time, killer Italian sandwiches, and Jewish deli meat. Finally, a Jewish deli meat truck! Here are the nominees for the best new food truck in 2013:

- Moo Shu Grill
- Neapolitan Express
- Old Traditional Polish Cuisine
- Sweet Chili

Hard to vote in this poll if you’re Midtown West; we’ve rarely (if ever) seen any of these trucks.

how far west are you? i’m on 53rd/6th, and i see all those trucks fairly regularly.

40th and 8th, across from the Times building.

moo shoo grill is on 50th and 6th at least two days a week. katz and dogz is on the 46th street strip down from moishe’s and kim’s aunt at least three days a week.
DiSO is on 48th and 6th on either thurs or fri, and sweet chili has been popping up on 50th and 6th on occasion.

Diso has done me a solid every time I visited, despite the moronic goombah sandwich names

Gotta go with two:
Diso’s – which thank God seems to have found its way back to 47/park on a regular basis, AND
Moo Shu – which I haven’t had in weeks because it’s just not on 47/park often enough!

Moo Shu has been parking on 53rd/park i think. not sure if 5 extra blocks is a deal breaker or not.

It is – but only because I work on 48/Third – with a 30 minute lunch break! Moo Shu is heavenly — I’d definitely walk the extra 5 blocks if I could!
