Celebrate Tri-Trip’s Birthday with $1 Sandwiches at Grand Central

Tri-Trip Grill has been open in Grand Central Terminal for four years now. And to celebrate their birthday, they will be offering their Little Buck tri-tip sandwiches today only starting at noon for just $1. Chips and soda can be added for just $3.25. The deal is only available at the GCT location and only while supplies last. Plus I can imagine lines, so I’d start heading to Grand Central right about now!

Free Salmon Alert: If you like salad and you like salmon (which you probably do if you like salads) you'll want to pay attention to this one.  Both Tri-Tip Grill locations, in Grand Central and in Rock Center, will be offering free salmon on any salad all day today.  Usually that's a $3.99 add on, so even those of us who aren't into salad or salmon have to admit it's a pretty cool deal.

Tri Tip Grill’s Philly Buck is Good But Not Great

Tri Tip Grill When I think of anything food related that uses the word “Philly” I instantly think about the oh so delicious Philly cheesesteak. I’m not going into the debate over who makes the best one or what sort of cheese makes it more authentic but you have to agree that any sandwich with meat and cheese is going to be good.

So the other day I noticed the Philly Buck at Tri Tip Grill in Grand Central which had grilled onions, peppers and topped with melted provolone cheese. Ever since I had their Bacon Cheddar Buck, I’ve been wanting to go back and try a 6oz sandwich instead of the 4oz I had last time. Is the extra $1.50 worth it?

Tri Tip Grill Should Serve Tator Tots All Day

Tri Tip Grill Last time when I went to Tri Tip Grill and was waiting for my oh so delicious bacon cheddar buck I noticed they have a breakfast menu with tater tots! Tater tots! I don’t know what it is about tater tots that are addictive. Maybe because I’m nostalgic for them or maybe because they’re delicious deep fried potato balls. Though there is only one thing keeping me away from those tater tots and that is Trip Tip Grill only serves their breakfast menu till 11am. Sadly I hardly eat breakfast but I’ll make an exception for tater tots.

Tri Tip Grill’s Bacon Cheddar Buck is a Winner

Tri Tip Grill

Ever since I started writing here on Midtown Lunch, I have heard of Tri Tip Grill (loved by many Midtown Lunch’ers). I wanted to try them and I knew I should try them. But things kept coming up and I just never had the time to trek up to the Rockefeller Center. Then finally at the Midtown Lunch 5th Year Anniversary I was able to try their roast beef. After eating 1 (followed by 3 more), I knew what all the craze was about.

Now with their Grand Central location opened for business, I can enjoy as many roast beef sandwiches as I want. And for my 1st one I decided to try something special.

Buy One Get One Free Breakfast at Tri Tip

Tri Tip French ToastApparently September is National Breakfast Month (who knew?), and to celebrate Tri Tip Grill (in the Rock Center concourse) is offering a buy one breakfast get one free special all month long. The deal’s only good from 9-10am, and the free breakfast must we of “equal or lesser value” to the one you pay for. Valid through Sept 30th. The ML crew has given the thumbs up to the Brandy French Toast and the Buck Muffin, so if you’re the breakfast eating sort it might be worth grabbing a co-worker and splitting the bill.

Your First Look at the Tri Tip Grill Grand Central

The dining options in Grand Central are about to get a lot more interesting with Tri Tip Grill and Shake Shack set to occupy nearby spots in the downstairs concourse of the station. Working in Rock Center I’ve become a fan of Tri Tip and I’ve been curious how they’ll operate in the old Central Market Grill space. We checked in with the owner Dave Kassling, who gave us a peek at the rendering of the new space.
