Baoguette Rumormongering: Last month Michael "Bao" Huynh hinted to Eater that plans were in the works for a major Baoguette expansion... and according to a tipster, 3 of those will be in Midtown. One on 41st (btw Lex+3rd), one on 53rd & Lex, and one across from Ma Peche. Not sure if this is in addition to the one planned for GCT, but either way it seems too crazy to be true. (Even for Michael Huynh.)

No More 50 Cent Hot Dog: We received a tip in the forums that Gray's Papaya (on 38th & 8th) had pulled their sign for 50 cent hot dogs. Distraught, I walked over and confirmed that a hot dog cost $1.50. (That's 3x the sale price people!) Oh well. So much for my recession special.

Free Ice Cream Alert: Thanks to Lunch'er HollyDiver for pointing this one out in the Forums... Carvel is giving away free Swiss Miss hand dipped ice cream all day long today. There are a few Carvels in the area- but if last year's promotion is any indication, the only one participating is in 1 Penn Plaza. Can any freeloaders confirm?

UN Screwing the Streets Up: The UN madness is wreaking havoc on the ML Twitter Tracker this morning... Crisp is giving away a $5 coupon, Wafels & Dinges is on 46th, Joyride Truck is on 52nd, and Cravings is on 53rd.  But Schnitzel & Things have been forced downtown, and Eddie's Pizza has ended up on 55th- but Papa Perrone isn't very happy about it.

Free Booze at Beacon From BE: Today's Blackboard Eats deal is a free bottle of wine with a sit-down lunch or dinner at Beacon (on 56th btw. 5+6th). The deal is no good at the Burger Bar, the regular bar or the side door and requires at least two diners. I've never been, but free booze and the raves about having "one of the best burgers in the city" are enough to make me want to splurge on this one.

Cer Te’s Thanksgiving Dip is Still Good: When it rains it pours, I guess... it's curious that Serious Eats: New York chose today to shine a light on Cer Te's Thursday only Thanksgiving Dip, but it's nice to see that this old school Midtown Lunch Sandwich Challenge entry is still good!  I guess the post is perfect for those who like planning out their whole week of lunches on Monday.  (DOH be damned, of course.)
