Korean Fried Chicken Coming to Midtown For Lunch?!?: Posted in the comments yesterday: "Based on some of the feedback that I have gathered from this site, I have been trying to convince an investor group to open a Korean style fried chicken (ie: Bonchon Chicken) in Midtown. Do you think you would go for after work chicken and beer? If anyone has suggested locations, please let me know. I am thinking somewhere in the 50’s btw 6th Ave and Madison?" Hmmm. Let me think about this... uh, yeah! As long as it's open for lunch too...

The Ruby Tuesday Burger is Good?: At $11.99 for their cheapest burger, it's out of the Midtown Lunch price range- but apparently the burger at Ruby Tuesday's in Times Square (on 7th Ave. & 41st St.) is really good.  I still will never step foot inside that place just on principle, but for burger fans willing to spend a little bit extra,  AHT is usually right on about this stuff. [A Hamburger Today]

You Can Never Have Too Many Lenny’s (Wait, actually- can you?): Thanks to Lunch'er Adam for passing along this sandwich chain expansion news: "Lenny's is opening 3 new shops -- one at 30 Rockefeller, one at 34th and 8th, and another out-of-bounds around Columbus Circle I think.  I saw the sign in the window in the store on 48 Street (btw. 5+6th.)  Personally, I'm not a big fan of their overpriced and not-always-so-good sandwiches."

Out of Bounds New Orleans Happy Hour: I know how many Crescent City fans there are here, so I thought you might be interested in reading Gothamist's profile of the chef from the newly opened Bourbon St. Bar & Grille (on 46th btw. 8+9th.)  I hate restaurant row, but I'm starting to warm up to this place.  It's not in the ML price or location range, but they have great after work drink specials (all fancy cocktails are $5 until 8pm) and their hurricane is palatable (especially for the happy hour price.)  I can also confirm that their red beans and rice is the real deal.

Good Riddance Bagelfeller: Posted to the comments, and confirmed by Eater: Bagelfeller on 48th btw. 5+6th is becoming Sam's Cafe House serving lunch and dinner. "Perhaps this is just a case of one generic Midtown spot replacing another, but according to a tipster, BagelFeller was actually a big place with the Rock Center crowd." Uh... if by "Rock Center crowd" you mean lunch-challenged-losers, than yes- Bagelfeller was a "big place."

No Free Burrito For You!: The newest Midtown Chipotle (on 50th & Park) is having their Grand Opening tonight, but there will be no free burritos.  Instead, a $5 donation to charity will get you a free meal and fountain drink until 9 p.m.  Tomorrow, they'll be open for regular business at 11 a.m.

Do I Look Like Midtown Buffet’s Lost & Found?: Since you know how much I love mis-directed emails, I thought I'd share the one I got this morning: "I ate at the Midtown Buffet yesterday and left something there and was wondering if there was anyway to get the item? -Linda"  Hmmm... anybody find "something" at the Midtown Buffet yesterday?

Tomorrow is Last Day for New Pizza Truck Before Vacation: From Papa Perrone's Pizza Truck (on 55th btw. Mad+Park): "We will be closed for vacation from July 31 to August 10th.  We will be back on Monday August 11. Look for our latest creation- the Prosciutto balls."  I don't know why, but there is something funny about that.  There is however nothing funny about their artichoke pie.  Delicious! (Although I've heard the pizza leaves a bit to be desired.)

Tad’s Steak Dare: From an email: "I have a request for you.  Certain people here at my office are obsessed with Tad's Broiled Steaks and how bad it is.  It would be really cool if you would review the place and take pictures of the food." I once wrote I would accept any Midtown eating challenge.  I knew at some point it would come back to bite me in the ass.  I guess the Tad's write-up had to happen at some point, right?

Cosi Not Immune to the DOH: This just hit the inbox from Lunch'er Susan: "I know it's not very Midtown-Lunchy of me, but I went to get a sandwich at the Cosi on 48th and 6th today and it had been shut down by the Health Department."  Not the Hidden Cosi!!!  As long as there is no "evidence of mice" in the free bread bowl, I'm alright with it.
