El Rey del Sabor Back on 43rd Today: Just heard from the 43rd Street El Rey del Sabor Cart... they've been given permission to park on the NE corner of 43rd and 6th for today only (that's across 6th Ave. from the spot they were kicked out of yesterday.) So if you want tacos, that's where you'll find them. As for the future, they're still working out with the cops exactly what spaces are legal in that area.

New Baja Fresh Opens Tonight w/ $2 Burritos: Just got word that the newest Midtown location of Baja Fresh (on 41st and Broadway) will not open for lunch until tomorrow- but tonight they'll be open from 6-8pm and all burritos will be $2! (That's cheap enough to consider it an "after work snack" right?)

New Baja Fresh Hoping to Open Tomorrow: The second Midtown location of Baja Fresh, which was hoping to open on Monday (on Broadway and 41st), will likely open tomorrow. They've "passed the health inspection, and are cleared to go- but are still putting some finishing touches" on the space.

Ice Cream Trucks About To Hibernate: Fork in the Road checks in with some of the more high profile ice cream trucks in NYC, and discovers that most of them will be closing up for the Winter very very soon. And not just the hipster vendors... it's only a matter of time before the Mister Softee trucks get replaced with Hot Soup carts.

Ladies Drink Free: at Go Go Curry every single Monday in September (the 14th, 21st, & 28th) with the purchase of any curry. Don't know how many drinks, or what kind... but whatever, it's free. And I know some of you ML ladies were planning on hitting Go Go Curry anyway. Might as well get a free drink out of it.

Sophie’s Price Hike?: According to this posting in the ML forums, Sophie's Cuban has raised the prices of its specials from $8.63 to $9.80 with tax. Not a huge increase, but inching ever so close to being disqualified from Midtown Lunch status. I suppose it's better than them closing more locations.

Ask ML: How Fattening is Soft Tofu Soup?: From the ML Inbox: "Question for you... I have been eating the soft tofu soup that Grace mentioned in her roundup of midtown soup spots several times a week. I have also put on a decent amount of weight in that time!!! Do you or her have any sense of how healthy/unhealthy soft tofu soup is?"
