N.Y. Deli opened in March next to one of my favorite pizza places- NYPD Pizza. I was thinking/hoping that N.Y. Deli might follow the same style as the pizza place, and serve super awesome NY deli style sandwiches, home made pastrami, etc. (Not that we don’t have great local spots for that) Instead, N.Y. Deli has a different formula- Boar’s Head sandwiches only.
Over a year ago, on a warmer day, I discovered how much I enjoyed the gazpacho and fresh sandwiches at Le Bus. Now that it’s warming up, (on and off) I had a craving for that gazpacho again. But another soup, the color of pepto bismol, tempted me instead. Ok, I realize that doesn’t sound tempting, but it was delicious, I promise!

The Independence Fresco Cafe, right across the lawn from the Liberty Bell, has opened for the season, this time with a more elaborate menu and an alcohol license. Beer and bratwurst sounds like a great lunch to me.
Though I haven’t gotten to eat there yet, here is a look at the menu after the jump.
Emei Szechuan Style Restaurant is a newish Szechuan Chinese restaurant that replaced Chung King Garden. Like its predecessor the menu has both Szechuan and American-Chinese type food. I tried a bunch of appetizers and their spiciest lunch special.

Primo’s has locations all around Philly, NJ, and Delaware. And as most people in Philly know, they do sandwiches, “hoagies”.
From the long list of hoagies, I chose the Whacked Chicken Cutlet, with sharp provolone plus not only pesto, but bruschetta on top too.
