The Southwest Porch Has Reopened

For the past few years, Southwest Porch (40th+6th) has been a good outdoor option on beautiful days: burgers, beer, and porch swings. But anyone who has passed by over the past few months has seen work being done. They were undergoing renovations and it’s finally done complete with a revamped menu. Watch The Olympics In Bryant Park

The Southwest Porch in Bryant Park is getting in on the Olympics action, offering up their brand new 55-inch screen for those who would like to get their Olympics fix. You can stop by during your lunch break to check out the action and eat a burger, and while you’re there, you may want to partake in their “Guess the Gold” game. Make your gold medal predictions via ballots available at the porch for a chance to win a pair of tickets on Southwest Airlines. I know Bryant Park’s Southwest Porch is kitschy, but I’m a sucker for porch swings. And fire pits. And I keep thinking that someday we’ll wake up and it will be gone. No more porch swinging! Horrors! For this summer, they added a few things to the menu, including calorie counts. When I heard an actual grilled burger was on the menu, I was game–even if it was $1 above the ML ceiling.

Southwest Porch Is Opening Up Again: The Southwest Porch is opening up again starting today with a new menu featuring a grilled cheddar burger and a BBQ-spiced grilled chicken sandwich, along with menu items from 'wichcraft. Those passing by in the morning are in luck too, since they'll have Greek yogurt and La Colombe coffee.
