Contributor Stalking: Fatty Ribs, Doughnuts & Ecuador

Do you wonder what the ML contributors do when they’re not eating lunch in Midtown? (They’re actually pretty easy to stalk!)

Ultraclay was a big fan of the ribs at Fatty Cue, Danny from Food in Mouth tried the tripe and eggs and Maialino, Blondie and Brownie had a late lunch at Shopsin’s last week and followed it up with a blueberry doughnut from the Doughnut Plant. And finally, welcome back to Amy- who spent the second half of June eating here way through Ecuador!

Contributor Stalking: Chicken, Waffles, Bar Food & Ramps

Do you wonder what the ML contributors do when they’re not eating lunch in Midtown? (They’re actually pretty easy to stalk!)

Amy was up in Harlem a few weeks ago eating fried chicken and waffles at Sylvia’s, Danny tried the chicken parm at Torisi Italian Specialties in Soho, Clay tries the bar food at Black Swan in Bed Stuy, and if you go now you might be able to catch Blondie buying strawberries and ramps at the Dar Hammerskjöld Greenmarket on 47th Street and 2nd Avenue

Forget Margaritas- How About Rum Spiked Custard?: I'm sure most people will be leaving work and heading straight for a margarita... but we've got a slightly different idea. According to ML contributors Blondie and Brownie, today is flan custard day at the Shake Shack! (A nip of rum, should Cinco de Mayo that right up!)

Contributor Stalking (The “Pastrami = Racism” Edition)

Do you wonder what the ML contributors do when they’re not eating lunch in Midtown? (They’re actually pretty easy to stalk!)

Danny returns from France, heads right for a delicious pastrami sandwich at Katz’s, and somehow manages to tie it in to a rant about illegal immigration? Blondie discovers some good eats at the Ft. Greene Flea, while Brownie kindly lets everyone know that Peter Pan is still selling chocolate filled St. Joseph’s day pastries. And Ultraclay gets curious about canned roland snails in Chinatown.

Contributor Stalking (The “Butchered Goat” Edition)

Do you wonder what our new ML contributors do when they’re not eating lunch in Midtown? (They’re actually pretty easy to stalk!)

After watching a goat get butchered at Cabrito, Ultraclay hung out and enjoyed some of their tacos. According to Brownie the veggie burger at Alias, in the Lower East Side, is better than their pulled pork. Amy hit up the new brick and mortar location of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. Finally, we hope Danny from Food in Mouth gets home soon! He was stuck in France because of the volcanic ash.

Contributor Stalking: They All Love Pork

Do you wonder what our new ML contributors do when they’re not eating lunch in Midtown? (They’re actually pretty easy to stalk!)

Brownie was at Ippudo in the EV loving on the pork filled “special ramen”, while her partner in crime, Blondie, was buying chocolate covered pork at Roni Sue’s in the LES to make cookies for this weekend’s Great American Bake Sale to benefit Share our Strength. Ultraclay finds pernil goodness in Chelsea.  Danny is in France eating rillettes (lucky!)  Jason tried the pork belly while brunching at Diner in Brooklyn. And our own Amy Cao was featured in the New York Daily News!

Contributor Stalking: Korean Splurge, El Quinto Pino, Pancake & Bacon Custard

Do you wonder what our new ML contributors do when they’re not eating lunch in Midtown? (They’re actually pretty easy to stalk!)

Ultraclay splurged on a $13 (shocking!) Korean lunch at Don’s Bogam,  Jason Lam finds durian ice cream in Sunset Park, Danny eats breakfast for lunch at El Quinto Pino, and Blondie and Brownie give you the lowdown on the new Shake Shack custard flavors (spoiler alert: Saturdays is pancake and bacon day!)  Plus if you like videos, Amy Cao has posted the latest episode of “Stupidly Simple Snacks, and it features pastry chef (and Vendy Award Judge) Pichet Ong.

Contributor Stalking: Wonder what our new ML contributors do when they're not eating in Midtown? (They're pretty easy to stalk!) Blondie and Brownie had dim sum at Golden Unicorn this past weekend, Ultraclay was at Cochon 555, Danny hit up Levain, Jason had some polish food, and it was Amy's Birthday yesterday!
