New York Post Calls Out “Filthy 15”: Today's New York Post calls shenanigans on some of the restaurants around town that have been hiding their C grades from the DOH. At the end of the piece, they list the 15 places that have received a C. Somewhat surprisingly, the only one in bounds for Midtown Lunch'ing is Red Curry Thai (Lex btw 39th & 40th).

88 Cent Burger Alert: Looking for a super cheap (and late) lunch?  Pop Burger (on 58th btw. Mad+5th) and 8coupons are doing another one of their Ocho Loco things today.  Text yourself this deal and get Pop Burgers for just 88 cents from 2pm to 6pm today.

Uncle Gussy is Taking the Day Off: On the ML Twitter Tracker today... Rickshaw is on 45th, Wafels & Dinges is on 52nd, Korilla BBQ is on 55th, and Schnitzel & Things is on 52nd with a limited amount of their "crack soup" (which we keep hearing is amazing).  As for Uncle Gussy?  Their free food giveaway went off yesterday without a hitch, but they've decided to take today off to regroup and figure out what they're going to do.

Sietsema Loves NYC Fried Chicken: We've always thought of NYC Fried Chicken (on 8th Ave. & 39th) as the "Bastard Son" of the 8th Ave. fried chicken scene, but not so says Robert Sietsema of the Village Voice.  Yesterday he called their chicken "one of the best versions of the classic dish found anywhere in Manhattan."  Clearly we need to do an updated fried chicken round up... you know... for science.

Pies N Thighs and Crif Dogs Coming Soon!: Eater reports that the Columbus Circle Holiday Market is just a few weeks away, and will feature food from Pies N Thighs, Crif Dogs, and Fatty Crab/Cue. Wow. We might be spending all of December eating lunch on Broadway and 60th Street.

50% off The Knave: At this point there can't be anybody left who doesn't know about the "hidden" Burger Joint in the Parker Meridien Hotel. But have you checked out its lesser known coffee and Italian sandwich serving cousin, The Knave?  If you're a fan, or have been meaning to check it out, today's Groupon gets you $10 for just $5.

Around the ML Universe: Curious what's going on around the rest of the ML Universe?  Andrea found some amazing looking pork crackling in a Tribeca coffee shop,  I was tricked into loving vegan food by an all you can eat Ethiopian buffet, and in honor of National Sandwich Day, Jamie posted a list of her 9 favorite sandwiches in Philadelphia.

Last Day for Free New Malaysia Samples:

On the ML Twitter Tracker today... Eddie's Pizza is on 46th, Rickshaw is in Columbus Circle, Cupcake Stop is on 58th, Wafels & Dinges is on 47th, Street Sweets is on 52nd, and the Malaysia Kitchen Truck is in the Flatiron for their last day of free samples from New Malaysia.

Meals on Wheels Cart is Rafiqi in Sheep’s Clothing?: Remember the new "Meals on Wheels" cart we told you about on 49th & Park last week? Apparently it's just a rebranded Rafiqi's cart! Though the actual cart is new, the permit never changed hands and it's the same guy who harassed El Rey del Sabor a year and a half ago. Obviously the owner is hoping that's all water under the bridge, and they can both park on the same block... we'll see.

It’s Chicken Strogonoff Day at Schnitzel & Things: Schnitzel & Things is back to their crazy ways again... a few weeks ago it was a lamb stew special, today it's chicken stroganoff with cremini mushrooms.  $10 w/ fries, $7 without, and as a warning the lamb stew sold out at 12:05pm last time, so you might want to get there early.  According to the ML Twitter Tracker they'll be on 46th btw. 5+6th (but you'll probably want to check before heading out.)
