Half off Bon Chon Chicken: Korean fried chicken fans will want to hit up Groupon today... you can get $30 worth of chicken from the Bon Chon on 38th btw. 7+8th for just $15. Do it. Do it.

It’s Aliiiiiiive: The ML Twitter Tracker is back up and running after a very slow snow day... Comme Ci Comme Ca is on 56th, Eggstravaganza has steak and egg tacos, Schnitzel & Things is on 52nd, Rickshaw is on 50th, Taim Mobile is on 51st, Uncle Gussy's is testing out dessert, Korilla is on 55th, Joyride is on 52nd, and Eddie's is on 52nd minus two ovens (so slices and heros only today.)

It’s a Good Week for ‘wichcraft’s Pastrami Sandwich: Ed Levine rounded up his 9 favorite snow day eats yesterday over on Serious Eats New York and the pastrami sandwich from 'wichcraft made the cut. We like their breakfast sandwiches, and their BLT, but pastrami? Who knew? I guess we'll have to add that one to our must try list.

Parks Department Welcoming Vendors Everywhere But Here: Apparently the whole Tavern on the Green food cart experiment worked so well that the parks department has decided to open up other public parks to food vendors. Sadly none of the parks in Midtown are included on the list.

Trucks Snowed In, Carts Are Braving the Weather: The ML Twitter Tracker has been crushed by Snowmageddon, with not a single truck braving the weather in Midtown... but unsurprisingly some of the carts are out.  Biryani Cart (regular and Juicy Wings), Kwik Meal, and Jamaican Dutchy have all checked in to say they're working.  Get out and support!

Cucina & Co at 4:59pm is For Dummies!: We've mentioned this deal a few times, but it was funny to see it in the NY Post. After 5pm all perishable food is 50% off at the Cucina & Co in Rock Center (25% off after 3:30pm in the Met Life Bldg.) Just beware of all the Japanese tourists and Staten Island teenagers (?) you might see milling about around 4:59pm. (Thanks to Lunch'er "Gargupie" for posting this in the forums.)

Not All Shake Shacks Are Created Equal: Food super genius J Kenji Lopez-Alt did a taste test of all the Manhattan Shake Shacks for A Hamburger Today and declared the Midtown location the strangest. Apparently they don't smash the patty as much, making for a much thicker burger than the other Shake Shack locations.

Free Book Alert!?: This has absolutely nothing to do about food, but it's free stuff and we know how much you guys like free stuff!  Today from 11am to 1pm if you check in on Four Square at the lobby of the Simon & Schuster building (on 6th ave. btw. 48+49th) and show the S&S rep in the lobby they'll give you a free copy of Gideon’s War (some book by a producer of 24.)

Sifton Loves Jamaican Dutchy, Trini Pak, and Hot Sauce: In this week's "Hey Mr. Critic" column, Sam Sifton is asked to recommend places for eating on the cheap and includes Midtown faves the Jamaican Dutchy and the Trini Paki Boys Cart (with extra hot sauce), as well as Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecote, Tiffin Wallah (Curry Hill), Baoguette, Xi'an Famous Foods (Chinatown), and Caracas Arepa Bar (in the EV).
