PROFILE: Midtown Lunch’er “John”
Every Tuesday we turn over the site to a different Midtown Lunch’er for his or her recommendations for the best lunch in Midtown. This week it’s John, a promotions scheduler who’s goto order at Pizza Hut is a meat lovers (presumably.)
Name: John
Age: 31
Occupation: Promotions Scheduler
Where in Midtown do you Work?: 45th & 3rd
Favorite Kind of Food: Three Meat Pizza
Least Favorite Kind of Food: Oysters
Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch in Midtown: Schnitzel and Things opened up right down the block (on 3rd btw. 45+46th) and I’ve been in love ever since! Their sriracha mayo on a pork schnitzel sandwich is amazing.
“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? A Chop’t wrap is my normal “I don’t know what to do for lunch” lunch but lately that’s been replaced by Rickshaw Dumplings (on 45th & Lex), mmmm Duck Dumplings.
Place(s) you discovered thanks to Midtown Lunch? Melt Shop Grilled Cheese is amazing and I owe it to you guys for helping me discover it. I’ll run over on my lunch and then walk back rather slowly full of deliciousness.
If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? I’ve worked all across midtown from 8th ave to 2nd Ave and everywhere has it’s charm. I’d have to say somewhere in the middle so if I decide to I can just haul ass back and forth and experience everything.
Anything you’d like to ask the Midtown Lunch readers? When is the earliest possible time you can consider eating “Lunch”? My job can be pretty busy so that means I sometimes have to grab lunch as early as 10:45-11am. It’s great for beating the lines but it makes getting to 6:30pm rough sometimes. I’m still unsure whether this is breakfast or lunch.
Got an answer for John? Put it in the comments. And, as always, if you want to be next week’s Profiled: Midtown Lunch’er (or know somebody you’d like to nominate) email editor@midtownlunch.com.
