Zabar’s Sandwiches at Penn Station Duane Reade
Now here’s a sandwich from a drug store I’ll try! According to Eater, the Duane Reade in Grand Central Penn Station is now serving pre packaged sandwiches from Zabar’s in a fancy little kiosk. No word on what kind of sandwiches are available, or how much they are, but I’m sure they are 1000 times better than the poor excuse for sandwiches being served at the Times Square Walgreens. Normally if I’m in GC I’ll probably end up making my own sandwich at Murray’s Salami, but I suppose I could try the Duane Reade/Zabar’s sandwich… if I was dared.

The DR inside Penn Station has the Zabar’s sandwiches too. The DR on the 2nd level, right below the MSG entrance, not the other one near LIRR/ Subways level.

I dared you to do this months ago at the Duane Reade at Penn Ste which also has Zabars-provided sandwiches. So I call dibs on the dare. This actually isn’t even a dare, its just yum good.

How about a dare on an order of fried stinky tofu (could make it a worse dare by saying steamed stinky tofu) and fresh durian fruit as dessert? lol. -
where the hell is there a Duane Reade in GCT? I’ve only ever noticed the Walgreen’s.

I think that’s the DR in Penn judging solely by the pic. Parhaps the Eater just captioned it incorrect. There’s no DR inside GCT, only a Rite Aid. There’s a DR near the GCT but I do not believe it looks like that…

i’ve had it. it’s ok, especially for a pre-wrapped sandwich you find in a drug store. some are smaller than others. there’s also some non-sandwich items there too.

You guys were totally right… the Eater caption was incorrect. It was Penn Station, not Grand Central.

So….how about it? I tried these months ago, the day of or after the walgreens fail, and eater is only now discovering this?! What would really make me happy is to see a photo of adorable harry showing duane reade some love.
