Soul Fixin’s is Voice Approved: Friday's Flatiron review of Soul Fixin's was totally inspired by Robert Sietsema, and yesterday the Village Voice reviewer filed his take on their fried chicken and mac and cheese. Also recommended for those who work near (or are willing to trek to) 28th btw. 7+8th? The chicken and dumplings.

Sapporo Serves Midtown’s Best Ramen: Fork in the Road put out a list of their 9 favorite bowls of ramen today, and Sapporo (on 49th btw. 6+7th) was Midtown's highest ranking entry at #7, just one slot ahead of the newly open Totto Ramen (at #8). Agree or disagree if you like, but we can't argue with one thing. Ippudo is without a doubt #1. (Too bad it's in the East Village!)

Trini Pak Boys Debut Steam Fish and Dumplings: Just got word that the Trini Paki Boys Cart (on the North side of 43rd btw. 5+6th) will be trying out 2 a new dish today... steamed fish (on the bone) and dumplings. The cart is there now, but the special won't be ready until about 12:30pm. If it sells, they'll serve the fish every friday. To find out what's going with the rest of the carts and trucks in Midtown, check the ML Twitter Tracker.

WTF Junior’s? Where’s Our Free Cheesecake: Apparently tomorrow Junior's will be giving free cheesecake with every lunch and dinner order, or slices of cheesecake ala carte for just 60 cents... at the BROOKLYN location. What? No love for Midtown? What a bunch of BS. [NYDN via Grub Street]

Katie Holmes Has Midtown Cupcakes Shipped to Canada: I guess we do have great cupcakes after all? Apparently Todd English's 16 year old daughter has a line of cupcakes called Isabelle's Curly Cakes- sold exclusively at his Food Hall in the Plaza (on 59th and 5th.) And they're so good that Katie Holmes had a box of them shipped to Canada where she is working. [People via Eater]

Korean Tacos: Yesterday, the New York Times documented the eastward spread of Korean Tacos since the Kogi BBQ Truck launched a couple years back. Representing New York were Brooklyn's Oaxaca and Flatiron Lunch reviewed Sagaponack.

Here Come the Letter Grades: The DOH has started awarding letter grades to restaurants, causing Eater to pose the question: "Would you Dine at a B or C Grade Restaurant." Uh. We already do! Every single day. A great man once said, "B is For Better". And another great man said "C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me." Agreed!

Bloody Times Square Lunch Scene: Glad we didn't walk by this yesterday during lunchtime. (Although as shrink wrapped foodstuffs go, it still looks more appetizing than the Walgreens Sandwich.)

Half off Bull Rides?: Actually the bull rides are free, but this Groupon will get you $30 worth of food and drinks at Johnny Utah's for $15 (on 51st btw. 5+6th). I wouldn't be one of our first choice of places to eat, or drink... but half off (plus free bullrides) goes a long way (and apparently they make good top shelf martinis.)
