The Boneless Rib Sandwich at The Rib Stand

I can’t get enough meat sandwiches. What can I say, I love meat and portability. The Rib Stand in Reading Terminal offers, along with baby back and spare ribs, a boneless rib sandwich. While I hate to pass on the thrill of gnawing meat off of bones, bonelessness and between bread-ness is a lot more lunch friendly.

Trying Duck Chili for the First Time

Pearl’s Oyster Bar’s Fish Sandwich Lunch Special

For about a year now, several Reading Terminal purveyors have offered a $7 lunch special. Pearl’s Oyster Bar is located at the entrance of Reading Terminal with several counters for seating and a menu full of fried and raw seafood. Their lunch special consists of a soda, your choice of Manhattan or New England clam chowder, and a fried cod sandwich.

A Lesson in Amish Pot Pie and Corn Nuggets at Dutch Eating Place

Hailing from Lancaster County, the good Amish folk at Dutch Eating Place bring country cooking to Reading Terminal. Half of the staff looks too young to be allowed to work, the other half looks too old to be allowed to work, but the place is constantly busy and the apron-ed workers, both young and old, keep up with the pace.

Looking around the counter, I ordered based on what looked popular, survey says: the hot oven roasted turkey sandwich.

While waiting, I noticed that the gentleman next to be had some delightful looking fried, golden balls in front of him. When I inquired, he informed me that they were corn nuggets and was nice enough to offer me one. I happily accepted, and fell so in love that I ordered my own.

Get Your Oyster Po Boy On at Beck’s in Reading Terminal

Beck’s Cajun Café opened inside Reading Terminal a few months ago serving as their main attraction… po boy sandwiches! Though Beck’s has so many great choices (gumbo! jambalaya! beignets!), it was all about the oyster po boy for me this trip. I came ready to indulge.
