The second NYC location of the all organic, vegetarian restaurant named Terri has opened on Pearl St. (btw. Pine & Maiden Lane). You can get most of the details here and expect a review soon, just in time for swimsuit season!

First Look: Aroy Dee Is Your Hip, Quick, Thai Option In The FiDi

Aroy Dee Thai Kitchen opened in a hurry, bringing us a mix of steam table thai and some made to order dishes. The restaurant took over the space on John St. formerly occupied by It’s A Pizza, and we’ve gotten a solid thumbs up for the food. The prices are pretty on par with other Thai spots in the Financial District that offer express options – Bennie’s Thai Cafe, Cafe Sage – but they don’t offer table service. Instead, you can sit at one of the counters along the walls or take your food to go. I opted for the latter and ordered up some pork panang curry ($8).

Healthy Food Invasion Of The FiDi Continues With Terri

The stretch of Pearl St. between Maiden Lane and Pine has become quite the magnet for new lunch spots since hurricane Sandy left many of the existing options shuttered for weeks or months. A new one that’s popped up is Terri. When I saw the sign a week or two ago, I didn’t post about it because frankly it looked like a ladies clothing boutique based solely on the signage.

El Toro Opens On New St. Serving Mexican Standards…And Burgers

A tip of the hat to luncher Daniel who wrote in to tell us about a new Mexican option on New St. where Pita Grill used to be. El Toro Mexican Grill opened between The Grotto and Sophie’s Cuban, and has a varied menu (no, not like a generic deli). You can build your own burrito, tacos, bowl or salad, from a wide variety of proteins including tofu and chorizo, and then also have quesadillas, rotisserie chicken and burgers for those who may not be so much into lunch in a tortilla.

Have any of you eaten there?

In case you missed our post from last week, Go Go Curry is expecting to open its new location on John St. (btw. Broadway & Nassau) on Monday at 10:55 a.m. If you’re one of the first 555 people in line you’ll be able to pay in change 55 cents!) if you get a single size curry. Otherwise, you’ll still pay less than $10 unless you have a hunger that can only be sated by a Grand Slam.

Go Go Curry Announces Opening Date For Its FiDi “Stadium”

Get your sweatpants ready because the new location of Go Go Curry on John St. has announced an opening date. You’ll be able to get Japanese curry in sizes ranging from reasonable to insane starting on Feb. 25, according to a press release. The newest location has been dubbed the “World Trade Center stadium” as it’s a couple of blocks away from that building site on John between Broadway & Nassau. I’m already anticipating a solid food coma.
