The first Five Guys in the Financial District opened last weekend, and I went to check it out on the first day they were inundated with office workers. Also, I must confess that I have never eaten at Five Guys before (I know, I know) so I was really excited to see what all the hype was about. The bright red sign went up on the new Five Guys on Fulton St. (at Gold Dutch) in the Financial District at the end of last week and it’s set to open this Saturday. The hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and there aren’t any opening specials planned, reps from the chain said. It’s a little strange that they’re opening on a weekend, but I guess that gives them time to get any kinks worked out before the onslaught that is sure to happen the following Monday.
There’s no signage yet, but the opening of the new Five Guys on Fulton St. (at Dutch) is nearing with plywood going up over the last couple of weeks. A rep from Five Guys says it’s expected to open on July 31 which is somewhat weirdly on a Saturday. So there’s only a few more weeks to go until you can pile the free toppings on your burger and eat a heaping helping of cajun fries.
