Nolita Has A Decent Fish Taco: A battle of the fish tacos was staged, and Pinche Taqueria (on Mott St.) won out over Baja Fresh. I'm not quite sure why anyone would go for a chain restaurant taco anyway (I'm looking at you Taco Bell), but if you're in the market for a late lunch on this lovely Cinco de Mayo, here you go.

Free *cough*Healthy*cough* Lunch from Energy Kitchen: Sometimes we're faced with ethical dilemmas that rock us to the core. Today we face one of those challenges. As reported by NYC Daily Deals, Energy Kitchen (71 Nassau @ John St.) is giving out your choice of a Bison Cheesesteak Wrap, California Wrap, or Buffalo Chicken Burger with the purchase of a drink between 12 and 2 today. The question is are Midtown Lunch principles more about delicious, greasy food, or more about free shit? You decide. Freeloaders engage... with caution.

Free Lunch Alert: The Midtown Yorganic closed a while ago, but the one on Hanover Square is still alive and well!  They'll be launching new products tomorrow and want to give you free food to celebrate. Be one of the first 300 people to show up at their Hanover Square location (that's 3 Hanover Square) on Wednesday from 11:30am to 2:00pm and you'll get a free lunch. They're giving away other goodies too, so swing by and try your luck. Freeloaders engage!

Free Food Alert: In case you didn't see this on the Midtown section of ML, Tomorrow (Thursday) Laurent Tourondel (of BLT restaurant fame) will take to the streets in a truck handing out free hangover food.  The truck will be Downtown from Noon to 2pm (on Broadway across from the “charging bull sculpture”).

Five Guys Coming to Fi-Di:: If you haven't seen it already, Midtown Lunch reported last week that three new Five Guys locations are opening in Manhattan, including one on Fulton near Dutch Street. They're estimating a July/August opening, and I am drooling with excitement.

Yushi Adds “Sake Ramen” to the Menu: The Midtown Lunch Team gave us a heads up about this one! Yushi has added a bowl of Ramen with a full cup of sake mixed in.  According to the website, ID is actually required to order it!  Lucky us, we get to share in the fun with our very own Yushi on Vesey Street on the west side of the West Side Highway.  It may be a trek, but is it worth it? Early adopters, let us know what you think in the comments.

Street Sweets has a New Downtown Location: They're not on ML Downtown's Twitter Tracker yet because they've never been down here before, but according to their Twitter feed, the Street Sweets truck has parked on Hudson Street between Houston and King.  It may just barely be within our boundaries, but it works for me! If you're in the area, go say hi and let 'em know they're more than welcome down here.
