Frites ‘n’ Meats Embraces the Financial District: The Frites n' Meats truck will be adding the Financial District to the list of places they call home. After some permit and mechanical issues, they're back on the streets as of Monday and according to the Downtown Twitter Tracker they'll be trying out a new spot on Broad and Water Street today. Street Vendor Protests at Health Dept.: According to Gothamist, a street vendor protest was scheduled to start at 10am this morning over a NYC law that bans street vendors from leaving their carts at all while in operation. A nut vendor in Lower Manhattan apparently lost his license for ducking into a bookstore to use the restroom. Protests should be taking place at the Department of Health Headquarters located at 253 Broadway. Can anyone confirm? UPDATE: The Village Voice has the scoop...
