Signage Alert! Sarah’s Kitchen Debuts its Glowing Sign

Sarah's Kitchen

It’s official, the new place that took over the old Pinnacle Deli is not !Sarah’s Kitchen (with an exclamation in the front) but just plain Sarah’s Kitchen. It’s still a mystery as to what they will be serving but from the looks of things, we’ll find out pretty soon. Get a sneak peek of the interior after the jump.

Pinnacle Deli to Become Sarah’s Kitchen

Back in October Donny got excited by the prospect of something new taking over the old Pinnacle Deli space (on 3rd btw. 46+47th).  He was hoping for Korean food but it looks like he’s going to have to settle for… Sarah’s Kitchen!  Or is that Isarah’s Kitchen?  Maybe that’s just an exclamation point, and it’s on the wrong side?  Could this place possibly be related to Sarah’s Halal on 6th Ave.? (Doubtful.)  And what exactly is “traditional food”?  So many questions, so few answers.  One thing is for sure, I have a feeling Donny’s going to be disappointed- but we’ll still hold out a little bit of hope that it turns out to be something good.  Thanks to lunch’er Larry for sending over the photo.

Arby’s Heading Back to Midtown….Maybe?

Arby's

To the many Arby’s fans that had cried when the one and only Arby’s in the city closed, happy birthday! Few months ago I had noticed construction work had started in the old Pinnacle Bagel & Deli space (3rd btw 46+47th), which prompted me to start daydreaming about what sort of deliciousness will take over that space. Well thanks to lunch’er Larry B, we finally know what’s taking over the space, Arby’s and Nathan’s!! (Really?! Ugh!)

Or is it…? See what I saw instead only after few hours that photo was taken.

Something is Coming to the Old Pinnacle Deli Space

Pinnacle Bagel & Deli

Ever since I started working in Midtown East back in late June, it was always sad to walk by Pinnacle Bagel & Deli (3rd btw 46+47th) and its empty counters. I may never get to experience their Korean tacos with a side of bagel, but I am excited to see some sort of movement in that space. Just a couple days ago I noticed brown paper covering up all the windows. I’m hoping it will be a kick ass cheap lunch spots with good Korean food (I’ve been craving Korean food, but it’s kind of hard to find in Midtown East). Anybody know what’s going in there?  Tips, or requests, are welcome in the comments…

Pinnacle Deli No Longer Serving Korean Tacos

And just like that, Tacos Zen is no more. I wrote about the Korean taco experiment at Pinnacle (3rd Ave. btw. 45+46th) back in October and apparently the generic deli has already pulled the plug. According to Lunch’er Garrett, the tacos are no more, and they’ve “partially restored a hot food section that makes hot sandwiches. They still do offer bibimbap.” I was far from bowled over by Pinnacle Deli’s tacos, but I think with some tinkering they could have been much better. I guess we’ll never know.

Pinnacle Deli Enters Korean Taco Fray With Tacos Zen

Pinnacle Bagel & Deli (3rd Ave. btw. 45+46th) is the latest to enter Midtown’s growing Korean taco craze, with a sign proclaiming Tacos Zen (I’m not sure if that’s the name of the taco counter within, or simply the mental state they expect their tacos to leave you in). I’ve never been to Pinnacle before, but they have the salads and sandwiches you can get anywhere. I’m not sure when they started serving this Korean-Mexican fusion (they also have burritos, burrito bowls and gimbap in addition to tacos), but it’s sure to make them stand out from their deli brethren. Chris H. has already written about Pro Hot Korean, Cafe Duke and Bann Next Door. Can Pinnacle be added to the list of places to satisfy your Korean taco craving?
