Free Lunch at Guy & Gallard Alert: In almost 6 years of Midtown Lunching we have managed to completely avoid eating at Guy & Gallard, but that might change today.  According to Twitter, if you download the Level Up app on your phone and use it at any Guy & Gallard location today, lunch is free.  Freeloading iPhone and Android users, prepare to engage.

Your First Look at MoMA’s Free Curry Lunch

The second floor MoMA exhibit we told you about last month is open and serving free Thai curry from noon to 3 (except on Fridays when it will be served from 4 to 7.) Lunch’er Peg went on opening day (November 17), and reported back:

A few fellow freeloaders – I mean colleagues – from the office tried day 1 of free curry at MoMA. The good news: barely a line at noon for very tasty green curry! The bad news: the portion was small.

The exhibit runs through February 8th, so you have plenty of time this winter to check it out.  Of course unless you’re a member, entry to the museum will cost you $25, so “free” curry is a little misleading…

Last Chance to Get Free Lunch from Mastercard

Today’s the final week in Mastercard’s Priceless Food Truck Feast Promotion. The good news is each truck is giving out 500 free lunches once again. The bad news is we get very little love in Midtown this week. Our only options in Midtown are La Cense Burger and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream (two trucks that rarely come to Midtown any longer) both located on Lexington between 52nd and 53rd. Taim and Souvlaki GR will also be parked a bit out of bounds even for the Flatiron on 28th between 1st and 2nd. If you can stop by and deal with the crazy lines, remember to flash your Mastercard, like them on Facebook, or tweet using the hashtag #pricelessny. And if we’re really lucky, maybe they’ll extend the promotion through December. But I wouldn’t count on it.

Free Lunch At City Sandwich Today: In honor of their new loyalty program, City Sandwich (on 9th Ave. btw. 45+46th) will be giving away free lunch today. Details are on the City Sandwich Facebook page, but apparently all you have to do is download the Level Up app for iPhone and Android, and swing by the store. Plus, they seem to have updated their menu. Freeloaders, prepare to engage!

Another Thursday, Another Free Lunch From Mastercard

Mastercard’s Food Truck Feast promotion continues today with offerings from ten new food trucks. Check out their Facebook page for all the details. Just like the last two weeks, all you have to do is show your Mastercard or tweet using the hashtag #pricelessny to obtain free lunch. This week, the participating trucks include Bian Dang and Pera Turkish on 40th between 5th and 6th 6th Ave b/w 40th & 41st, Chef Samir and Andy’s Italian Ice (a Long Island based dessert truck) on Lexington between 36th and 37th, and Big D’s Grub and Cupcake Crew in the Flatiron. Remember, the promotion only lasts from 11-3 and the lines tend to get long since all the freeloaders come out for a promotion like this. See you there!

Mastercard Buys Us A Second Round of Free Lunch

Today is round two of Mastercard’s Food Truck Feast promotion in which they give away free lunch from ten different food trucks in the city every Thursday for a month. This week, there’s a brand new roster of vendors, including Palenque and Sweetery both on 51st (bw Madison and Park), Wafels & Dinges and Red Hook Lobster in the Flatiron, and Bistro Truck and the new Morris Grilled Cheese just out of bounds on Lexington (bw 68th and 67th).

For a complete list and locations, check out their Facebook page. And don’t forget to tweet with the hashtag #PricelessNY or simply flash your Mastercard to score the grub. Plus even though the official rules say differently, I was told last week by one of the Mastercard reps that there is no limit to how many free lunches you can get. So even if you scored last Thursday, that doesn’t mean you can’t eat for free again today – and if you play your cards right, maybe you can even get free food at multiple locations today. But remember, there are only 500 free lunches from each truck, so arrive as early as possible to avoid a shut out. The promotion lasts from 11am-3pm. Freeloaders, start your engines!

MoMA’s Second Floor Galleries To Smell Like Curry: According to the New York Times, a new exhibit on Moma's second floor that runs from Nov. 17th to February 8th will include a free Thai curry lunch available daily from noon to 3, except on Fridays when it will be served from 4 to 7.  Of course "free" is a slightly deceptive term considering it costs $25 to get into the museum, but for those who have memberships this could be a great lunch option!

Get a Free Food Truck Lunch From Mastercard Today

If you like food trucks and you like free lunch you better hope you have a Mastercard. Starting today they’re running a promotion called Food Truck Feast and it essentially translates to free lunch, from a bunch of food trucks in New York, every single Thursday, for the next four weeks. All you have to do is show your Mastercard at one of the 10 participating food trucks and like Mastercard on Facebook or Tweet to them with the hashtag #PricelessNY. The free grub (up to 500 lunches per truck per day) will be offered from 11am-3pm with a rotating list of 10 food trucks every Thursday.

Each week’s line-up will be announced at the beginning of the week, and today’s participating trucks in Midtown are Kimchi Taco and Gorilla Cheese and both will be parked on 55th btw. 6+7th.  Gorilla Cheese (on 53rd between Lex and 3rd), and Comme Ci Comme Ca (also 53rd between Lex and 3rd), with both Bian Dang and Mexicue doing freebies in the Flatiron. All the rules and fine print can be found here here, and then let the freeloading commence!

Free Sandwich Alert: We don't normally get excited about healthy lunch, but if it's FREE... well, that's a different story. The Sweetery Truck is teaming up with some health care co. (irony much?) to offer free food from a promo truck at different spots all week long, and every day this week from 11:30am to 2:30pm they'll be on 57th btw. 5+6th giving out free lunchtime sandwiches.

Win Free Lunch From Google Places & Us

What’s better than a free, awesome, weekday lunch in Midtown with 75 of your closest friends? (aka Midtown Lunchers)  Nothing, that’s what.  So when Google New York approached us about throwing a party for you guys at Food Gallery 32 in Koreatown we immediately said yes.  And all you have to do to enter to win is share your opinions about your favorite places in NYC on Google Places, their new personalized local recommendation engine.   (After all, you’re more than happy to do it in the comments here for free, why not do it over on Google Places and score some free food.)  Entering is easy.  Just start an account on Google Places (if you don’t have one already), fill out this form, and post a review.  That’s it.  Of course, the more reviews you write, the more chances you have to win.

That’s the basics.  All the details (and the fine print legal mumbo jumbo) is after the jump…
