Stick to Satay at Bai Cha: From the sound of this review on Fork in the Road, Bai Cha (the new out of bounds Asian satay and sandwich shop on 9th Ave.) has improved their satay. Sarah D. recommends the beef and red curry chicken. Sadly, the sandwiches are still bad.

4Food Open for Lunch; FnM Has Run In With Rafiqi’s: On the ML Twitter Tracker today (at the time of this post)... 4Food will be open from 11am to 2pm, Joyride is on 52nd, NYC Cravings is on 52nd, Frites N Meats is on 52nd (and had a little trouble with Rafiqi's this morning), Eddie's Pizza is in the Flatiron, Street Sweets is on 46th, and Quick Stop Kosher is on 33rd. Plus, there's a lot of lobbying going on for that $10k!

Smith’s Takes Their Shot at Shake Shack: Eater recently pointed out that Smith's Bar (on 44th & 8th) might be feeling a bit victimized by the emerging imperial ambitions of the expanding Shake Shack empire. Personally, I hope Smith's excellent fries and sliders will survive. After all, some of us like a pub burger in a neon dive.

Shake Shack is the only under $10 lunch on the list- but questionable title aside, it actually is a great list of spots to go if you're looking to spend some dough.

Schnipper’s New Beef Gets First Big Seal of Approval: Following our report that Schnipper's Quality Kitchen (on 8th Ave. and 41st) had recently switched to Pat LaFrieda beef, Nick Solares from A Hamburger Today rushed out to the try the new goods. The verdict? "The beef had a steak-like sweetness and envelopes your mouth in a rich, velvety blanket of beefiness." And apparently the bun's not too shabby either.
