What Happens When Things Get Rowdy at White Castle

I just couldn’t ignore this comment that Bronx Briner Girl posted about the White Castle on 8th Ave. btw. 36+37th:  “The fun begins when the recording plays, reminding patrons that there is no loitering permitted on the premises, that if they have not purchased food they will be removed forcibly by the police department. When things really get rowdy, an alert sounds and the manager makes an audible announcement. Then the cops show up and escort the offenders off the premises.” Really?  Have you seen this happen?  That’s awesome. I ate there once without incident.

  • It was very very quiet when I went at noon, but do go. Do they have No Loitering signs that prohibit sleeping at every White Castle location?

  • For your edification, McBeagle, I have not nor ever will eat at A “White Castle,” so-called. I would gnaw my own arm off before I would consume steamed animal matter coated with cheap rehydrated onions.

I am sure they are popular in your native Pittsburgh, though. And fits well within the budget of you and your fellow matress deliverymen.

Red Robin’s burgers are top quality and give you great value for your money.

Save up so that you might — one day — enjoy one.

  • Does this WC still serve Church’s chicken?….I think the fact that this WC is also a Church’s chicken, and the ghettoness related to Church’s, has been overlooked.

  • My dearest dombrooks:

Your intolerant and “politically incorrect” statement has been duly noted.

  • Harry your comment made me laugh so much. This post is funny!

  • While we’re on the subject of WC, I must once again sing praises of the White Castle Surf N’ Turf.

If you have not tried this “sandwich,” you have not lived. It’s basically a double cheeseburger, on a three layer bun (big mac style), with layer of fried fish thrown in for good measure. It’s easily the most disgusting thing I’ve ever put in my mouth (conceptually speaking), but goddamn, it’s delicious.

Before you run out and try one, it’s important to remember to shovel this thing into your mouth before you smell it. Otherwise your chances of making it are horribly slim.

It’s also important to carefully judge the venue before ordering one, as all White Castles are not created equal (as seen above). I can vouch for the relative safety of the Surf N’ Turf at the Brooklyn, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Brooklyn, Fourth Avenue locations. However, after rolling the dice at the Union NJ location, I almost wound up in the hospital. As a general rule of thumb, I’ll test drive a regular slyder first, in order to get a feel for what I’m up against.

I’ve never been to the 8th Avenue Manhattan location, but I promise I will scout it out, and check out their Surf N’ Turf. Perhaps a Midtown Luncher meet up is in order so that everyone can take the plunge, and feel the dizzying high that comes when you jeopardize your very existence for the cheap thrill of a fastfood sandwich of nightmarish design.

Interestingly enough, this 390 calorie slyder is only available in NY, NJ, CT and DE. I have to assume it’s illegal everywhere else. Proceed with caution.

  • Chip Beef, as to your comments about the WC Surf N’ Turf:

“Before you run out and try one, it’s important to remember to shovel this thing into your mouth before you smell it. Otherwise your chances of making it are horribly slim.”

I guess one could say that, if you got by the smell, you’d have it licked!

  • I much prefer Red Robin’s burgers because me and Hogzilla like to shove as many seasoned fries is our mouth as we can and at Red Robin they keep them coming. If they don’t I tell our waiter I will gnaw off his arm. I didn’t get to these size 52 trousers without the help of the seasoned fries – LOL.
The wife is a very handsome woman she looks like Ernest Borgnine in sweatpants with burger juice all over her kisser.

  • Sadly, I get indigestion just walking by that place… Crowded or not…

  • Yeah the customers in that White Castle were demented circus freaks! Circa 2000-2001 (I have not been there recently) However their white castle burgers were always delicious.

Anyone who works/lives around there remember when they caught the homeless dude who was going to the Alpine Gourmet buffet and carrying in bottles of his sht and piss and sprinkling them on the open buffett?! I haven’t been able to eat at an open buffet since. NYPost interviewed people saying “gee I thought it tasted funny”…

And I didn’t post it in the other thread but I haven’t been able to eat at that Pakistan Express place for years…ate there once in the basement and my curry was full of bones, blech.

  • sorry to rain on the parade… WC on 8th Ave has been closed. in fact, the entire block has been shut down due to future construction projects.

  • @Big Willie- a friend of mine walked by there yesterday and said WC, Dunkin Donuts, and Taco Bell are still open

  • little willie, to corroborate what zach just said, plenty of people enjoying the wonders of white castle in the restaurant when i walked past last night around 7:30.

  • The Wc yall are talking about Lmao I work there. The people that come in there are homeless crackheads and just plain old crazy! I have been cuss’d out b4 by many of them and I ignore them Or just stand there and laugh. The recording we have in there is called west tech interactive its sooo funny my co-worker and I crack-up! Just today one of the managers got cuss’d out by a man sleeping in there smh…Not a safe place too work at nite that is why I work an early shift!

  • I just love the 2x thick bullet glass and that you have to get buzzed into the bathroom

  • Anyone who would dare to eat the stuff served at this White Castle DESERVES to be escorted out by the New Yawk City’s finest and then placed into a holding tank until such time that they can receive their first meal of JAIL FOOD, which will be substantially better.

But, be aware that the “DocChuck” and “DocSuck” impostors above are Louise Chiffonade Brescia (from Brooklyn) and Melissa Jerzee Tomato (from New Joisy), whom have been kicked off of most other websites.

The REAL “DocChuck” only posts using his “signed-in” handle.

Have a great day, White Castle eaters — LOL!
