Five Guys 48th Opening on Tuesday: Speaking of all the Midtown burger craziness, it looks like we're getting our 3rd Five Guys next week. From the owner: "Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect to be opening next Tuesday at 36 West 48th Street."

R.I.P. ESPN Zone: It's officially doneski. Now the waiting game begins... chances that it becomes something cool? 1,000 to 1. Odds on it becoming pop up restrooms with corporate toilet paper sponsorship? Even. What do you want to see open there? Sound off in the comments...

DOH No Longer Cares About “Evidence of Roaches”: The Department of Health will begin putting letter grades on restaurants next month, and according to Grub Street many of the rules have been changed- to the benefit of restaurants. Our favorite? "Evidence of roaches" is no longer an offense... the inspectors have to see actual roaches. Bummer. "Evidence of roaches" was one of our faves.

Slice on Eddie’s: We weren't the only ones who filed an Eddie's Pizza Truck report yesterday... Adam Kuban also weighed in on Slice, posting his thoughts along with some patented upskirt shots. There was also a lot of complaining about wait times, but it was only Day 2 (and Day 1 was a free pizza day.) We're guessing that will improve over time.

Same Sh*t, Different City: New York isn't the only city launching unfair attacks on its food trucks... a Los Angeles city council member introduced a measure on Friday that seeks to ban food trucks from parking at meters in highly commercial shopping areas. Just a bit of warning for those who might have thought the events of the past week are just an isolated incident.

Midtown Lunch Goes for $2.6 Million: A Midtown lunch with Warren Buffett, that is... An anonymous bidder agreed to shell out over $2.6 million bucks to have a steak lunch with the billionaire at Smith & Wollensky's in Midtown. The money goes to benefit the Glide Foundation, a charity servicing the poor and homeless in San Francisco. I think we would have chosen Del Frisco's.

Still Curious About Otarian: the new eco friendly vegetarian place that opened recently on 56th Street and 8th Ave.? This horrible review in the New York Times should put an end to that. Unless you liked Danku... in which case, it sounds like it might be right up your alley.

One More Thing: If you read about the Anti-Food Truck law, read the reactions from the vendors, and agree with my letter to Council Member Jessica Lappin, but haven't signed the online petition and joined this Facebook group please do so now. We need all the support we can get if we want to keep food trucks open for business.
