Souvlaki Returns, Tribeca Taco Truck Out: There's a lot of good stuff out there today on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker, so hopefully the rain (sigh) will hold off. Tribeca Taco is on Broadway in SoHo, Korilla BBQ is on Varick, and Rickshaw and Bistro Truck are on Hudson along with Taim Mobile and its tomato Thai basil falafel. In the FiDi, Souvlaki GR and Cevap Truck are at Old Slip, Coolhaus is on Wall St. and Cupcake Crew and Big D's are at Hanover Sq.

Roll And Go Opens, Selling $1 Slices

About a month ago, signage went up on a location of Roll And Go on Broadway (at Franklin) advertising $1 slices and an odd assortment of other food options. Well, according to lunch’er Geaufrite in the forums it looks like it’s finally open and we can all get our grubby hands on cheap-ass pizza. Since that’s kind of a lunch dead zone it’s probably best that this opened instead of yet another Subway.

Crisp Truck, Grilled Cheese To Start The Week Right: If things seem a bit quieter than normal today on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker, it's because a lot of trucks are at the Zagat Food Truck Frenzy. What we do have is Crisp mobile, Schnitzel & Things and Rickshaw on Hudson, Comme Ci Comme Ca at Old Slip and Wafels & Dinges has a cart at Greenwich & N. Moore. Gorilla Cheese is at Hanover Sq.

There’s More To Love At Nixtamalito Than Tacos

To anyone who says there’s no good Mexican food downtown (or in NYC…or anywhere outside of some shack in the back of a gas station in California), I would say you should go out of your way to eat at Nixtamalito. Or if you get called for jury duty at least you can look forward to a torta come lunch time. I’d gone when they first opened and ended up ordering tacos which were good and all, but I wanted to try some of the other items on the menu that you can’t readily find downtown. That was how I ended up standing in front of Nixtamalito in the pouring rain, despite intending to go somewhere else (indoors) for lunch. Read more »

It’s Lobster Roll Friday!: If you're up for going over $10 for lunch today, the Red Hook Lobster truck is at Hanover Sq. In other ML Downtown Twitter Tracker news, Eddie's Pizza and Sweetery are on Hudson, Marrakech Chefs is on Wall,  and Bian Dang is on Varick. It's also Souvlaki Truck's last day at Old Slip.

Kimchi, Tribeca Taco Trucks On The Twitter Tracker: Things have quieted down a bit on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker but there are some options on this (so far) rain-less day. Kimchi Taco Truck, Gorilla Cheese, Sweetery and Rickshaw are all on Hudson. Tribeca Taco Truck is supposed to be out today at Broadway & Spring. In the FiDi we have Mexicue at Water and Rickshaw at Hanover Sq.
