Eggplant Manicotti Pie At Eddie’s: It's Friday, the sun is shining, and there is a lot to love on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker...Eddie's Pizza Truck is making its weekly stop on Hudson, and Sweetery and Rickshaw are also parked on that street. Frites N Meats is on Water and you can get a special of pollo verde at the Prince location of Calexico.

FiDi Is Down A Fancy Coffee Place

Sad news for fans of the Zibetto Espresso Bar on Fulton St. (at Gold). It looks like it’s shuttered indefinitely, likely due to the large hole in the street in front of the store. This only adds to the mess at the other end of the street as the Fulton Transit Center has closed or displaced a bunch of other stores and restaurants. And yet the giant new Burger King a couple of doors down is still open. Sigh. Check out the notice posted on Zibetto’s door after the jump. Read more »

Yesterday Was A Truck Feast, Today It’s Famine: The bad news is we don't have a lot of activity on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker, but the good news is that Rickshaw is on both Hudson in Soho and Hanover Sq. in the FiDi and Sweetery is also on Hudson. Calexico has both carts out with some ground beef action at the Prince location.

Made Fresh Daily Dashes Biscuit Sandwich Hopes, Harbors Secret Doughnut Stash

Sometimes it seems all we get down in the FiDi is crappy overpriced sandwiches or really good, but still overpriced, sandwiches. There are a couple of exceptions to this rule but the typical generic deli is not going to wow anyone with its offerings. A walk down the cobblestone streets off of South Street Seaport has led me to two good lunches at Barbarini Alimentari and Table Tales. The other day I found a third place to check out called Made Fresh Daily, on Front St. (btw. Peck Slip & Beekman). My interest was piqued when I saw a picture of a ham and cheese sandwich on a biscuit from there that made me want to lick my computer screen. That didn’t happen, but I did make it there recently for lunch and discovered they have something far more exciting than a sandwich. Read more »

Corn Cheddar Chili Wafels And Korean Grinders: We have so many good mobile eats at our disposal today on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker...Wafels & Dinges Truck has the equally amazing-sounding corn cheddar chili, and churro, wafels at Hanover Square. Frites N Meats and Rickshaw are on Hudson, Big D's Grub Truck is on Water and Korilla is on Front. Also, you can get a free order of fries or onion rings if you show you've Tweeted about or check in at the Burger Shoppe.

A Case Of Kati Roll Envy Leads To Bombay Biryany

We have so many great food options downtown (yes, really!) that it’s rare I have envy for whatever new options pop up in midtown or other parts of the city. Last week Kati Roll Co. in midtown debuted a new roll and it looked delicious. I wanted one, but since that wasn’t going to happen at lunch time I decided to use what I had at my disposal and head over to Liberty Plaza and get my kati roll fix from the Bombay Biryany cart. Would this fulfill my craving for an Indian burrito?  Read more »

Taim Brings Us Another Special Falafel: Today is more active than yesterday on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker...Taim is on Hudson with kalamata olive falafel and a mysterious winter lunch special, Korilla is on Varick, and both Calexico carts are out.
