Take That Shake Shack: When Shake Shack opened their new Midtown location on 8th Ave. we thought it was going to be bad news for Schnipper's Quality Kitchen. Not at all says the owners, and to prove how not effected they are by the Shack the Schnipper's Bros have decided to open a 2nd location across the park from the original Shake Shack. Good luck with that!

More on the Street Vendor/Parking Ticket Issue: Remember the whole "street vendors don't pay their parking tickets" thing we posted about yesterday? Well it turns out there is a lot more to the report than what the New York Post originally printed (shocker!) Shocker: Street Vendors Don’t Pay Their Fines: A study by the IBO has discovered that 94% of fines levied against street vendors go unpaid, and that bureaucracy is mostly to blame. Well, that and the fact that the laws are really vague and not enforced uniformly. One thing in the report that is hard to disagree with: "street vendors, community residents and business owners all seem dissatisfied with the system." Yup. [via Eater]

Arang Is Not Closed… For Dinner Anyway: A few weeks ago our man Ultraclay reported that Arang (on 32nd btw. 5th+B'way) was closed.  Turns out they're still open for dinner, they just threw in the towel on lunch (for the second time!)  They have decent drink specials, and Clay was a big fan of their Katsu... so I guess we'll reassign this spot to "Happy Hour" status.
