Hawaiian Tropic Zone Goes Bye Bye, Is Otarian Next?: Oh, Hawaiian Tropic Zone. You were too good for this world. And now you are gone. Also in closing news, Eater is reporting the Downtown branch of Otarian has closed. According to Fork in the Road the 8th Ave. Midtown location is still open, but lord knows how long that will last! We never bothered checking it out. Are we missing out on anything?

Can Nate Appleman Make Chipotle Good?: The food media is going crazy over the news that Nate Appleman is now working for Chipotle. But all we care about is will it make the food better!? He did used to work in SF, and that city does know how to make a good burrito. Plus he's into whole animal cooking. Could lengua be coming to Chipotle? One can only hope.

Angelo’s Coal Oven is Slice Approved: If you don't mind splurging for your pizza lunch (i.e. $15 for a small pie) you'll want to check this one out... Slice had some pretty great things to say about Angelo's Coal Oven Pizza (on 57th btw. 6+7th), calling it "delicious eating" and the perfect place to take family from out of town who want to see the Midtown sights.
