FREE FOOD ALERT: New Red Mango: This just in via Eater. The newest branch of Red Mango has opened on 3rd Ave. btw. 34+35th and is giving away free yogurt until 10pm. My recommendation... green tea with cap'n crunch. Do it. Do it.

TACO TRUCK WATCH: FAILED: A commenter led me to this post on Time Out New York: "Paty’s Tacos, has abandoned her 110th Street perch for tonier digs on the Upper East Side. The truck now occupies real estate on the west side of Lexington Ave between 86th and 87th Streets." Hmmm. It's not looking good. Although the phone numbers listed, are the same numbers that weren't working last week. I'll still hold out a little hope of some Midtown taco truck action.

BREAKING: FREE FOOD ALERT: Danny from Food in Mouth sends word that the newly opened Pret a Manger on 6th Ave. and 38th St. is giving away free food today. They say it will probably run out by 1:30pm so get over there quick!

BURGER FANATICS: Before you get too excited about the newly opened, slightly out of bounds 5 Napkin Burger in Hell's Kitchen that Lunch'er Janine has been stalking- you should know a few things. 1. They won't be open for lunch until at least next week. 2. From the looks of the dinner menu, I don't think this place is going to be in the Midtown Lunch price range.

TACO TRUCK WATCH DAY 3: More from the comments: "If this is Patty’s Tacos, they were in East harlem every day for about 4 months on 110th & Lex. I LOVE THEIR TACOS, and I haven’t seen them there in about 2 weeks. They have a delivery service and phone #347-216-9362 or 347-216-9358." Getting closer, but neither phone number works...

TACO TRUCK WATCH: DAY 2: In the comments: "Patsy’s Taco truck was parked in front of HSBC — on 40th street and 5th ave on Thursday and Friday last week. I talked to the Taco Truck lady on Friday who told me that they wouldn’t open until 2pm. I tried to communicate the absuridty of this to no avail. So I waited, and had tacos. They were good. A colleague of mine who lived in Mexico for several years gave it 7/10. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been back since. Taco Lady come back!" Ok, so now we have a name- and possible confirmation of quality...

DOT HITS THE PAVEMENT TODAY AT NOON: Sugar (the OG treats truck) is getting the day off today as "Dot" (the second treats truck) will be making her first appearance on 38th and 5th from Noon to 3pm before heading to 6th Ave. btw. 19+20th from 4-6pm. Owner Kim will be serving up special "swirly dots" to mark the occasion. See you there!

GO GO MATSUI!: Last night, on his 34th birthday, Hideki Matsui hit a grand slam homerun to lift the Yanks to 4-1 victory over the A's. We can't be sure how much Go Go Curry's birthday promotion had to do with it, but one thing is for sure- there will be more free topping cards handed out today! [NYDN]

WIN TIX TO FOOD EVENT: On Monday, City Meals on Wheels is having an event/fundraiser inside Rock Center featuring food cooked and served by a bunch of super famous chefs. The tickets are really expensive (it's for charity), but Serious Eats: New York is giving away a pair of free tickets. If you can win tickets, it may be a good stuff-your-face-after-work kind of thing (although if you have the money to buy tickets, it is for a really good cause.) [SE:NY]
