Tri Tip Grill Should Serve Tator Tots All Day
Last time when I went to Tri Tip Grill and was waiting for my oh so delicious bacon cheddar buck I noticed they have a breakfast menu with tater tots! Tater tots! I don’t know what it is about tater tots that are addictive. Maybe because I’m nostalgic for them or maybe because they’re delicious deep fried potato balls. Though there is only one thing keeping me away from those tater tots and that is Trip Tip Grill only serves their breakfast menu till 11am. Sadly I hardly eat breakfast but I’ll make an exception for tater tots.
For $4.59 I also got the buckmuffin (egg, melted cheese, caramelized onions and thinly sliced tri tip beef on an English muffin). When it comes to egg and cheese sandwich I prefer mine on a roll but an English muffin is a good 2nd choice. Like Jeremiah’s experience few years ago, I didn’t really care much for the caramelized onions but unlike his version, my egg in the sandwich was not runny at all. This was a really good sandwich. It was flavorful, salty, beefy and the melted cheese kept everything nicely together.
So the buckmuffin came with a side of 9 tater tots and for about $5 this easily made a damn good breakfast deal. Since my goal of getting up slightly earlier for breakfast tots, I got an extra order of tots. For $1.99 I got a nice size bag (about 20) of tater tots. When I left Tri Tip, I thought about going back for packets of ketchup but got lazy and went straight to the office. When I popped one into my mouth, I didn’t regret not getting ketchup. These were good salty deep fried goodness, no need for extra seasoning.
Tri Tip Grill’s tater tots are easily some of the best I have ever had and I’m glad they’re so close to my office. Though they only have tater tots till 11am. I know people at Tri Tip Grill read this site so hopefully they’ll hear me out. Please serve tater tots all day! Think about it, tater tots topped with thinly slice beef? Do it. Do it.

Maybe if you bring in your own bag of Oreidas they’ll give you access to the fryers during the afternoon lull?
