Win A Pair of VIP Tickets to the Grand Gourmet

The annual Grand Gourmet is returning to Grand Central Station on Thursday, May 1. On that evening, hungry attendees will descend on Vanderbilt Hall to sample as many dishes from the neighboring restaurants, bars, and cafés as humanly possible. Returning favorites like Grand Central Oyster Bar and Tulsi will be side by side with new additions Shake Shack (new to the terminal) and Vitae. Proceeds from the event support a neighboring homeless shelter and leftover food will be donated to City Harvest. General admission tickets are $125, but once again we’re offering two VIP tickets (a $700 value). All you have to do is leave a comment about which restaurant you’re most interested in trying and why. The list of participating venues and tickets can be found here. We’ll choose a name at random on Thursday, April 24 at 3pm.

Pescatore. My wife doesn’t eat seafood, so we never go to seafood-focused restaurants. At least with an event like this, I can sample some of their menu without having to rope in a friend and ditch my wife for an evening.

I am most interested to see what Murray’s Cheese will bring. I love their shop but I haven’t tried their restaurant yet.

I love the Grand Central Oyster Bar & Restaurant.

    Grand Central Oyster Bar
Somehow I’ve lived here most of my life and have never eaten here

  • Oyster Bar because at a festival it’s Opposite Day – the usual surly clock-puncher union employees will be replaced by pleasant spokesmodels, and instead of extorionate prices it’s free!

  • Beer Table, because Beer.

Grand Central Oyster Bar, because I love oysters but have yet to try this place.

  • American Girl, because what? they make food there? WTF?

  • The Campbell Apartment, because I’ve known about it for years but still haven’t tried it.

Magnolias Bakery – because their Banana Pudding is from another world and you should always try foreign delicacy ;)
To make it unhealthy: the finisher after the Pudding, a sexy blond beer comes from Wheeltapper Pub.
    What an exquisite dinner!
