Untamed Braised Meat Sandwiches Opening Next Week

And now for a completely biased news post.

I am incredibly excited to tell you a friend of mine is opening a ML sandwich shop called Untamed on West 39th Street Tuesday, January 28. The menu is not totally finalized, but the focus is sustainable slow-braised meat sandwiches (with a vegetarian option or two). I have been told one of the items will be a cider braised pork butt sandwich with sharp cheddar, broccoli rabe, pepper jelly and mustard (test production pictured above). Yum, right? I promise to let you know more about the shop, and I also promise not to review it myself – we know I would only have nice things to say.

  • sarah – you owe your loyal commenters free sandwiches at this place to make up for the abomination of your last review.

my eyes are still burning from reading it

  • If you mean that sweet green salads write up, I’m pretending it didn’t get posted!

  • You had me at “slow-braised meat sandwiches”. This sounds awesome! Seeing as this is well within my usual lunch time walking distance, I will definitely be making a trip here ASAP.

I can only assume your friend will strive to keep sandwiches in the ML price range.

But does it come with salad…?

    Haha, nice one Queen.

Any chance for an invite to a soft opening for ML’s??

Glad you all loved the Sweetgreen review.

Let’s focus on Untamed sandwiches for now. Jerry, of course I am lobbying for ML prices. It seems likely they will be around $10 (+/- $1).

  • $10+1 is not ML range. And how is a slow-braised meat sandwich “sustainable”? Do you recycle the ensuing poop to make another one???

    • HEY … I resemble that comment

    • For beef, it’s raising cattle pasture style where the eat grass, poor on whats left of the grass plants they just ate, and those remnants use the poop to regrow, only to be eaten again by the next cow that comes along and so on and so on……..although I can’t say I know this place is buying beef raised in such a fashion, as it is much more expensive that CAFO-raised, corn-fed beef and ergo unlikely to be in the MTL budget

    • retrying with better spelling in 3…2…1…

Thanks for the heads up on the soft opening. That was useless…..

    • How is it we get the publicist blitz but not the soft opening invite?

Enquiring non-salad-loving minds ask WTF ?
