A Street Level Moe’s is Coming to Midtown
Another fast food Mexican-esque chain is expanding in Midtown. Moe’s Southwest Grill, an Atlanta-based chain that’s pretty popular in the southeast has been serving commuters in Penn Station since 2009. Now they’re opening their second location on Sixth Avenue between 38th and 39th Street. So in case the line is too long at the new Chipotle, this will be just a few blocks away.

If we’re going that route, it’ll be the third: there’s one in Penn Station, hence the street-level bit.

There are actually two in Penn if I remember correctly, but one of them is just a walk-up counter with no seating.

While I am not claiming Chipotle is anything great, Chipotle > Moes and it isn’t close

I lean on the Moe’s side simply because some of their options come with guac in the burrito free. That’s an upsell at Chipotle.

Plus the burritos come with chips and salsa which I always appreciate. Fuck paying for chips and the tiny container of salsa they give which doesn’t contain enough to get through all the chips. Moe’s also makes their own superior hot sauce instead of using Tabasco.

There is also one on 3rd Avenue in Murray Hill.

I’m more interested in knowing what will be happening to the Prime Burger location. Workers were in there today, tearing the paper and the “FOR LEASE” sign off the windows (the inside is completely gutted, still).

This isn’t the second location, but will be the second in ‘Midtown’. The other one is on 1st or 2nd in the low 20’s.
